Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Really lovely campsite and very well kept. the view was amazing and loved the layout of the terraced camping field. Owner and staff were so friendly and very helpful couldn’t do more for us. Showers and toilets were always clean and washing hut station there was always plenty of hot water to do your dirty dishes. Only 7 minute walk to the beach. This is now our favourite Gower camp site and will be definitely coming back

Stayed here for two nights. Very noisy even though was told stick rules. Music constant from one van. Sick in toilets. No toilet paper and one blocked loo. Dirty showers and old. Shop very expensive. Not a good location to beach if you find it hard to walk. Not a good experience at all.

Response from Lynda Newland, Owner at Newpark Holiday Park
Responded 30 Aug 2023
Hi Karen L Firstly, thank you for taking the time to write a review. You are correct every staying visitor on the park receives a copy of the rules and are asked to stick to them, from there my staff and I whilst on duty stay vigilant to ensure the rules are adhered too and that no individual unit is upsetting the stay of others. However, we cannot be everywhere at once all the time, so this is where each arrival is advised that while you are on park if you have any concerns or emergencies or if anything is upsetting your stay then please do not hesitate to come to the office and out of hours call the number on our information sheet or press the ring doorbell by the office. Our toilet blocks are kept to a high standard of cleaning and are cleaned thoroughly first thing in the morning and then they are checked and cleaned throughout the day and last checked and cleaned from 7pm to 8:30pm but saying that Sunday morning first clean truly was something else…. I know because it was myself who had the fortunate (or unfortunate) task of cleaning them. This took twice as long as usual to get through, which meant the block with the violated cubicle with sick in the gent’s toilet was there longer than we would of liked, I was nearly at breaking point and even though the toilet rolls where changed the evening before there was none, and not one single square was used to even attempted to clean up their accident. The shop is an extension of the park’s reception and office and here to get you out of trouble in fact when out wholesale shopping we try to go out of our way to put price marked and reasonably priced items within our shop. The stunning views which we have from the entire park are only achieved by being at the top of the village. The walk down to the beach from our office only takes 7 minutes, coming up however will take as long as it takes as everyone is different and for some longer if you stop in one of the two pubs but all are on foot paths. My finale advice is if you are on holiday and there is something up setting your stay in any way, please let the park owners know and judge them on their actions from there, as sometimes things can get overlooked and to make your stay the best we need to know. Please don’t just bottle it up so you can write it on a screen when you get home, else all your reviews and experiences will be negative. We do hope you will return in the future so we can show you a more positive experience and I hope Never Again to wake up to the toilet blocks in that same state as that Sunday morning. Incidentally, my bank holiday Sunday shift carried on well into the early hours of Monday morning as I accompanied a visitor to Swansea Hospital after performing CPR. Kind regards Mr. R Newland and team Newpark

Thank you once again for hosting our family, weather wasn't kind to us this year but the toilets and showers are always warm and clean, the site nicely kept and that view when we could see it was perfect.

Lovely campsite, the showers and toilets were cleaned regularly, the views were amazing, it was a short walk down to the beach where we enjoyed fishing for bass from the rocks. Of an evening the campsite was very quite and family friendly. The coastlines and walks were amazing, we spotted seals and dolphins. My only tip would be to stop in swansea before hand to stock up on food as the local shops are very expensive. All round a great site and we will definitely be returning.

I would be very wary of booking this site they want payment up front which we did. Unfortunately, my mother was rushe into hospital and I rung to explain the situation. We didn't want a refund, just to reschedule for a later date but the owner was unsympathetic and cold heartedly told us we can't move the date even if it was to next year and we lost our money. There was no customer service at all, the woman was blatantly horrid. Never, never, never will we book here again. I would advise anyone to be wary of paying upfront or even booking at all. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

Response from Lynda Newland, Owner at Newpark Holiday Park
Responded 26 Jul 2023
Hi Ms. Karen Webb Firstly, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I am sorry you felt there was no empathy from a member of staff over the phone when you explained that your mother had broken her leg on Monday, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for this and I wish your mother well and a speedy recovery. Since this occurrence all staff have been advised that in the event of a call of a sensitive nature and when it is out of a customer’s control to fulfill their booking, we ask if they could put the information in an email where it will be read by the relevant management. This allows the right amount of time to digest and reply in an appropriate manner and therefore my staff are no longer put on the spot with a phone call at this busy time. Unfortunately, we were unable to help this time due to our cancelation policy which is displayed on our web site. I have not removed your booking and it will remain available for the 3 days that you booked should your circumstances change. As you can see from our other reviews we always strive to be accommodating and go that extra mile, although we cannot change the weather. My final advice is to always read the booking terms and conditions before making a reservation and take out the appropriate holiday insurance to cover your needs and any unforeseen circumstances. We hope you will return in the future so we can show you a good experience. Kind regards Mr. Newland and Team Newpark

First impression was fantastic, friendly people, children’s park right next to us and toilet/shower blocks also next to us. But then the older lady saw us outside the shop after hours on our phones & went mad that we were using ‘her’ WiFi, even though the website states they have Wifi throughout the park but when asked 3 times about this on arrival the instructions were vague and we could not access anything. Besides that, we weren’t even using the wifi as it didn’t work but the only reception we got was at the shop area so we were using our own data. Shower blocks were not cleaned the whole time we were there and def need updating. Well stocked shop was also very misleading. Thanks anyway and mad love to Sid!

Thank you for taking the time to put a review on our trip advisor Our toilet blocks are kept to a high standard of cleaning and are cleaned thoroughly first thing in the morning and then they are checked and cleaned throughout the day and the last clean being at approx. 8.30pm. We can only apologize if you used them after possibly someone else did not treat them with respect for other campers. Our shop is not like a supermarket we stock essencial items only, as their is a supermarket (within the local garage) just 1.5 mile up the road to us

Came with my husband and met some wonderful, friendly people on the site. We went paddle boarding and fishing together and even caught a bass! The site is a perfect place to not only have a wonderful time with friends but above all the views are outstanding! Great base to walk the coastal path too. Thank you Newpark for a great getaway from the rat race. Lynn :-)
