Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Unique and interesting. The rooms are themed and adorable. The owners communicated via email but they were super friendly and we felt if we needed any extra input they would have been available. They have an agreement for discount with a local pub so it was a most agreeable stay.

In all my days, I've never seen such an incredible establishment. It looks like another house from the outside with a beautifully kept garden out front but once you're inside....WOW! Phil, our host upgraded us from the "Mediterranean Room" to the "Venetian Suite" for FREE! I'm still trying to take it all in...Stunning ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Roll-top bath in the suite, separate shower and toilet. A TV with everything on it, fireplace, beautiful sofa. Boudoir as you can see is off the scale stunning. The concept of the Mirador is exceptional. Fridge filled with fresh fruit salads, boiled eggs and salmon for those who wish, muesli, milks, yogurts and a wee bottle of prosecco. Dehumidifiers either side of the bed. And everything in keeping with the Venetian Theme even down to the coffee cups. Just WOW! ❤️❤️❤️

Firstly a big thanks to Jeanette and Philip for an unforgettable experience and their amazing hospitality. We booked this for our grandson’s graduation for two nights and delighted to have found this little gem. Everything about this this place oozes charm. Yes some may find the themed rooms a bit quirky but that’s what really makes this place as one of the ‘bucket list’ places to be added to ones list. We had the French room with its own private terrace, furnished with Rattan furniture which was an absolute delight to have our cocktails in the evening and breakfast in the mornings. A little ‘haven’ in a quiet street. Simply delightful! Our room was indeed very French and all I kept thinking while lying in bed was that any minute Marie-Antoinette would suddenly appear and pour me another glass of bubbly so kindly provided by Jeanette and Phil in our fridge. Aaah the fridge…….what a surprising load of goodies! Various breakfast items like smoked salmon, Italian meats, cheeses, croissants, fruit, jams, yoghurts……oh I better stop and let you find out what else could be in store. Location couldn’t be better, within walking distance you’ve got a good selection of local bars, coffee shops and restaurants not to mention the local Sainsbury for your little forgotten bits (in our case toothpaste) While on the subject of restaurants, check out Brewstone’s cocktail bar and restaurant. Friendly staff serving excellent fayre from delicious breakfasts to lunches etc. oh and our Philip has negotiated a 20% Mirador discount off your bill. Now that made by day as having to shug out for a toothpaste of which we have many at home! Are there any negatives? None whatsoever but all I would add is that they should provide some sort of a folding table in the room for breakfast etc on rainy days when you cannot sit out on the terrace. As I’m writing this, both Carol and I feel rather sad that we have to leave today but feel pretty sure this won’t be the one and only visit back here!

Liked >They don't supply formal breakfast but fridge is well stocked and a microwave is available in the room. The shower was advertised as a power shower it was in fact electric but worked ok. You get 20% discount at local restaurant which is excellent for dinner and breakfast. Situated in nice part of Swansea . Disliked · What was absolutely unacceptable was text messages from the owner asking us to review the stay with a 100% review and saying don't do a review if with can't give him 100%. He stated that they had been " deliberately targeted with far from genuine reviews" and people were doing it to get their money back. He also said to book directly with them for a cheaper room rate. I think this throws in to doubt reviews of this property. I have their text messages on my phone to prove this is a genuine review . Their response to some negative reviewers in the past seem somewhat defensive. In respect of the accommodation we felt it was over priced but that's a personal view. Trying to eat breakfast sat on the bed is uncomfortable as there is no table etc. The room was advertised as having a power shower but is was not. However, it worked ok. The room needs some TLC. Trying to close the door to the bathroom was not easy for example. We wouldn't advise you not to book but we won't stay again as we felt it fell short in a few areas. We certainly didn't like the pressure to give them a 100% review and their belief that negative reviews are not genuine.

If you're looking for something a little bit different look no further. Phil and Jeanette offer themed rooms that are refreshing and quirky. We had room 7 , The French room, stunning art deco French themed room with a stunning terrace to enjoy a summers evening. Communication via text with the owners is so easy. All the relevant information is relayed and any queries can be handled quickly. Lovely treats left for us as it was a birthday celebration. Fridge packed with lovely breakfast goodies too including fresh milk, fruit and smoked salmon. Can't wait to return to see what delights await in another themed room next time!

Room was clean. The fans worked and actually blew a notable amount of cold air (compared to hotel ACs that won't go below a certain temperature despite the heat). Microwave was modern. Fridge was stocked with goodies. The bathroom was immaculate (even had a bottle of body mist waiting for me!). The owner was great and easy to reach out to. The TV worked and was a good size. Everything I can think of that other hotels lack, the Mirador excels in! Would highly recommend.

Believe all you've read by others. Unique B&B by utterly charming hosts. Takes one's breath away with its charm and WOW factor. Nice quiet location yet a stone's throw from buzzy Uplands main drag including the excellent Brewstones for great dining, cocktails, and more. The ONLY place to stay in Swansea! (btw - we stayed in the Venetian Room, hence this review's title 😉)

Not sure what more you can ask for from a guest house - two lovely hosts, a very pleasant well appointed room, good WiFi / TV options, plentiful continental breakfast and nearby decent bars and restaurant and excellent value for money. Maybe warmer weather next time? ...but there will be a next time.
