My partner booked the Egyptian Room as s surprise for a couple of days away. All I can say is wow! The room is fabulous and included all the elements of Egypt, from a four poster bed adorned with Osiris, and surrounded by Egyptian prints, Mummies and even a statue of an Egyptian. Upon walking up to the room the thing you notice are the beautiful murals outside on the walls and on the door, they are stunning! The theme as per the above continues, the bathroom is decorated in Egyptian style right down to the Egyptian cotton towels. There is a sunken bath where you can lie back and look at the stars on the ceiling and a large roomy shower. Included in the room is a mini fridge, with lots of goodies, a microwave and complimentary mints on pillows. Even the TV was set to a picture of the pyramids with Egyptian music in the background. All fantastic and quite breathtaking. The bed, covered in an Egyptian cover was soooo comfortable and we slept really well during our time here. Although the hotel does not provide meals, they work in conjunction with the friendly Brewstone, whose food is highly recommended. There are also quite a few bars and restaurants around so a good opportunity to get in touch with the live music scene or just chat to the locals. All in all, we had a fabulous time, especially knowing the hosts could be contacted immediately if there were any problems and they were looking out for us. Thank you so much Philip and Jeanette, it was fab - breathtaking and awesome - hope to see you again soon 😁

The themed rooms made this an unusual and unique place to stay. The imagination, care and attention to detail that has been applied to the accommodation was exceptional.
We stayed in the Egyptian suite and found it extremely clean and well-presented.
The continental breakfast provided in our room each day was plentiful and it was useful to have a fridge and a microwave in our suite.
Free wifi was great and trouble-free.
Although we did not meet the owners in person, all communication was smooth, friendly and included helpful information.
The location was a quiet, residential area but handy for local shops and restaurants, especially The Brewstone restaurant and only a 10 minute walk from the beach and the university.
Parking was on-street and a bit unpredictable but we always found a space in the street so this was not a problem for us.
We very much enjoyed our visit and would definitely stay here again.

When I found out we had to let ourselves in I was alittle worried but the instructions were perfect and we found the property really easily too . There wasn’t any parking on the street but just out onto the main road there was plenty and it was only a 2 minute walk back . Our room was actually two ! Which we were very happy with. A sitting room and lovely big bedroom .
There were loads and I mean loads of goodies in the fridge for breakfast so no need to go out but if you want a cooked breakfast they’ve sorted that out with a discount at local restaurant . Our room was on the top floor and seas very warm but again they’ve sorted this with two air con fans for the hot blooded guests!

Firstly a big thanks to Jeanette and Philip for an unforgettable experience and their amazing hospitality.
We booked this for our grandson’s graduation for two nights and delighted to have found this little gem. Everything about this this place oozes charm. Yes some may find the themed rooms a bit quirky but that’s what really makes this place as one of the ‘bucket list’ places to be added to ones list.
We had the French room with its own private terrace, furnished with Rattan furniture which was an absolute delight to have our cocktails in the evening and breakfast in the mornings.
A little ‘haven’ in a quiet street. Simply delightful!
Our room was indeed very French and all I kept thinking while lying in bed was that any minute Marie-Antoinette would suddenly appear and pour me another glass of bubbly so kindly provided by Jeanette and Phil in our fridge.
Aaah the fridge…….what a surprising load of goodies! Various breakfast items like smoked salmon, Italian meats, cheeses, croissants, fruit, jams, yoghurts……oh I better stop and let you find out what else could be in store.
Location couldn’t be better, within walking distance you’ve got a good selection of local bars, coffee shops and restaurants not to mention the local Sainsbury for your little forgotten bits (in our case toothpaste)
While on the subject of restaurants, check out Brewstone’s cocktail bar and restaurant. Friendly staff serving excellent fayre from delicious breakfasts to lunches etc. oh and our Philip has negotiated a 20% Mirador discount off your bill. Now that made by day as having to shug out for a toothpaste of which we have many at home!
Are there any negatives? None whatsoever but all I would add is that they should provide some sort of a folding table in the room for breakfast etc on rainy days when you cannot sit out on the terrace.
As I’m writing this, both Carol and I feel rather sad that we have to leave today but feel pretty sure this won’t be the one and only visit back here!

Liked >They don't supply formal breakfast but fridge is well stocked and a microwave is available in the room. The shower was advertised as a power shower it was in fact electric but worked ok. You get 20% discount at local restaurant which is excellent for dinner and breakfast. Situated in nice part of Swansea .

Disliked · What was absolutely unacceptable was text messages from the owner asking us to review the stay with a 100% review and saying don't do a review if with can't give him 100%. He stated that they had been " deliberately targeted with far from genuine reviews" and people were doing it to get their money back. He also said to book directly with them for a cheaper room rate. I think this throws in to doubt reviews of this property. I have their text messages on my phone to prove this is a genuine review . Their response to some negative reviewers in the past seem somewhat defensive. In respect of the accommodation we felt it was over priced but that's a personal view. Trying to eat breakfast sat on the bed is uncomfortable as there is no table etc. The room was advertised as having a power shower but is was not. However, it worked ok. The room needs some TLC. Trying to close the door to the bathroom was not easy for example. We wouldn't advise you not to book but we won't stay again as we felt it fell short in a few areas. We certainly didn't like the pressure to give them a 100% review and their belief that negative reviews are not genuine.

Response from Philip Henry-Dean, Owner at The Mirador Boutique

This is such a sad story to read – not from our perspective - but from its author…. The picture painted here is like that of a caterpillar - someone carrying far more weight than they need to. You really need to lighten up and shed yourself of this unnecessary weight you are carrying. It is time to let some light back into your everyday and embrace this life you were given. Stop all this negativity – stand tall, let the transformation take place and become the butterfly you were meant to be.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mirador Hotel, all the rooms are themed which adds a bit of fun to your stay. We were lucky enough to have the Oriental Suite , which had lots of space.

Our hosts Philip & Jeanette were lovely, very entertaining and totally looked after us, even extending to a bucket of ice and champagne glasses for us to celebrate our 18th anniversary & climbing Pen y Fan one day!

The hotel is very close to the Uplands area of Swansea, therefore surrounded by bars & lots of excellent restaurants. A great base for us to enjoy daily trips out on to the Gower Peninsula with its numerous beaches.

We would definitely stay again!

Thank you both Xx

Immaculate! We stayed in the Egyptian Room and have to say it was everything and much more than we expected ! The Egptian detail within the room was phenomenal. The standard of cleanliness was by far the highest standard we have ever come across when staying away from home.... 10 minute walk from the beach and lots of pubs/ restruants located a minutes walk away.
Phillip and Jeanette were great hosts ! Thanks guys !

We stayed in the Venetian room for two nights, on entering the room it was such a nice vibe, quirky, fun and a real feel of something different and special. The room was well equipped, very clean and a great selection of goodies and food for breakfast.
We didn't meet the owners which was a shame, but the booking and follow up communication was very good.
It is an excellent location for easy access to the city centre and also the Gower Peninsula.
The popular Uplands area is also right on your doorstep.
We would highly recommend The Mirador and would not hesitate to stay again.

The mirador is the perfect oasis/ retreat among the very wet Welsh weather. We stayed in the venetian suite and it really did make us feel like we was over seas. Themed rooms like this are genius specially with continuous covid warnings floating about.
The weather didn't bother us one bit. The room had all the mod cons and then some. Including a fridge with a lovely continental spread. And a little bottle of prosecco. Teas and so forth. But the blue tooth speaker and the beautiful fire place with all its settings was fun to play around with. While loading up Netflix that the owners have graciously added with a host of other features. . And even though we never met the owners once we never felt that they wasn't about if we needed something or a room service which always done when we asked.
Once again a truly beautiful stay and I could go on about the intricate little things that melded together to make it such a lovely stay. And I add a very clean and luxurious stay . We definitely be back many thanks to Philip and Jeanette

The Mirador Boutique

Swansea

You want classic chic with a quality experience….each one of the 7 rooms exudes taste with a very classy character theme.

Both my wife and I have stayed here a couple of times and have experienced both quality and the wow factor every single time!! This is not the bog standard normal B and B, this is a boutique townhouse where Phil and Jeanette have thought of everything when it comes to the “experience”.
From the moment you step into your room your senses are bombarded with exquisite tastes and comfort. Honestly if you don’t go wow upon entering the room, there is a travelodge down the road….somewhere. Parking is a bit of a pain as there is no designated parking and don’t do the traffic wardens don’t work Sundays, as trust me they do!!
Absolutely amazing!!! Thank you and would….sorry will definitely see you guys again xx

Is there off road car parking?
Answer from MiradorBoutique

Hiya Stranger.... Please note, we do not have designated parking at ‘The Mirador Town House’ it is all on-street parking - but at least it is FREE. You will notice one third of the street has been reserved for local residents, the other two thirds is open to the general public; The residential area is clearly marked; so please make sure you park outside the white boxed areas; failure to do so will leave you venerable to the No 1 public enemy – the dreaded ticket warden - and remember, their only purpose in life is to upset your day....
