Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Best Stay! Room spacious & spotlessly clean. Comfy bed & lovely fresh sheets. Spacious bathroom & excellent facilities. Would highly recommend. The ambience of this 3* hotel is amazing and a credit to the whole team of staff. Strong WiFi & room service if needed. Reception staff extremely helpful.

We stayed for four days in one of their massive family rooms which were perfect for a couple and two young children. The room was L-shaped so we didn't all need to go to sleep at the same time. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were great and we had two very good evening meals. The hotel feels like a local hub as there is so much going on from craft fairs to a junior boxing tournament. It is so close to two local pubs, an ice cream parlour, the Rathlin ferry and the beach. The north-east coast has so much to do from the Giants Causeway to exploring all the coastal castles. My highlight was running out along the coastal road to the south in all weather but I must go back to swim and dive when it's a bit warmer.

Hotel doesn’t cater for people with mental health issues. They took £100 out of my partners account for a very minor infringement . This is my third time staying at the Marina this year. I ask to speak to management, received no reply WILL NEVER STAY OR RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE 😡😡😡

Hi David, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay with us. I'm disappointed to read that you didn't have a great experience. We pride ourselves on being able to provide great service to our guests regardless of their personal circumstances. Smoking inside the hotel is strictly prohibited, this includes the bedrooms. Information regarding any damage charges is clearly displayed at the bottom of the registration card. This reg card would have been signed upon check-in as per our standard protocol. To my understanding, the manager you spoke to via telephone (that morning) and email thereafter, explained the charge and our reasoning behind it. The £100 was charged to the card we had on system, this charge covers a deep clean of the room and part of the monetary loss we suffered as a result of having to close out the room in order to make sure there were no traces of smoke left. I Understand your frustration David however, we can not allow guests to smoke in the rooms regardless of any health issues. If you wish to discuss this matter further, you can contact me directly on 02820762222 Kind regards, Ellie Rooms Division Manager

Nice hotel, staff & food however allowing dogs right in front of reception was really off putting and I’m a dog owner! Really strong smell of dogs as there were two big dogs slurping water from a bowl! They and their owners also get the best seating……I had to go to the resident’s lounge to have a drink away from the smell and it wasn’t as nice a place to sit in and didn’t have the lovely view! I’ve no problem with dogs sitting with owners outside but definitely should not be inside and while this is still allowed I honestly can’t see me returning! Also rooms were incredibly hot….radiators were piping hot and a little turn down could I’m sure save a fortune on heating bills……when a room is cold the heat can be turned up but when it’s already stifling it’s very difficult to get it cooler quickly!

The pillows were lovely but beds were very soft. Our bed 🛏️ was joined but staff separated it into two singles on request. We stayed in a dog friendly family room. All necessary things supplied for the dog 🐕 although we didn't need them. Lovely bathroom but toilet seat was very loose. Nice fluffy white towels. The heat in the room was almost unbearable even with radiators off and windows open. Couldn't sleep it was so warm 🥵. The breakfast was very good and all the staff we encountered were lovely especially at breakfast. The dinner was complimentary and therefore was limited in choice and steak wasn't great. The fish and chips we got with the £20 voucher from nearby cafe were very nice indeed. The bedroom floor was not clean and left our slippers filthy. A very basic hotel.

Hi B487MCjunes, Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent experience with us! We appreciate all feedback and ensure to take your comments regarding your stay on board. I would like to apologise for the shortcomings in service with regards to the heat of your room, in future, please don't hesitate to contact reception as they would be able to provide measures to keep the room cold. Although we are extremely lucky with our views, we aren't always as lucky with the weather, so we try to heat the rooms in accordance with the conditions outside, and in this case we would like to apologise for the room being too warm. We hope to welcome you back to the Marine in the near future! Kind regards, Guest Services

Our conference just had the most delightful feel - I can't put into words why the vibe was such a lovely mixture of convivial, relaxed, intimate yet professional. The team at the marine were so warm and personal that you just felt at home...but everything was done for you! On maybe three occasions, I asked for help with something at least a little out of the ordinary and all were made entirely possible.
