Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stunning stay at a reasonable price, well located - can walk to Newcastle and to Tollymore Park. Great views of Mourne. Breakfast is to die for and nothing is too much trouble, rooms clean and comfortable. I had to travel very early when we left and that night they made a sandwich to take in the morning - really lovely people

Stayed here 8-11th August 2014 to watch the Newcastle airshow and celebrate my wife's birthday. Nice comfy bed and excellent breakfasts prepared by 'granny'. The b&b is very handy to Newcastle and Tollymore forest park, only a 20/25 minute walk to either. Ample car parking on site when not touring through the Mourn mountains.

We have not booked B&B accommodation for some years, however weekend stays in hotels have become very expensive. Friends were visiting from Dublin and we just needed a place to meet up and stay overnight, so after checking out reviews Oakleigh House was the choice. With just 3 en-suite rooms it maintains a homely feel and we were made very welcome by our hosts. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable and there is a sunroom where you can sit and enjoy a cuppa while enjoying the views of the Mourne Mountains. After a evening meal out and a good nights sleep we found a breakfast table set up in the sunroom. Fresh wheaten bread, good choice of cereals or porridge. There were various combinations on offer for the cooked breakfast and everything was freshly made, tasty and hot. My husband commented that it was as good a breakfast as he had in many a hotel, if not better. We headed off mid morning to enjoy the beautiful walks which are plentiful around this area. We all agreed that this had been a good choice and would return again.

We stayed at Oakleigh for one night and it was perfect. We used this lovely B&B as a base for walking and exploring the local area. The room was spotless, fluffy soft towels, and a delicious breakfast in the morning. Couldn't have asked for more.

We stayed at Oakleigh House for 1 night in August on our trip to Northern Ireland. There is plenty of secure parking and the house is in a quiet location. We found the bed comfortable ,the room clean and the ensuite good. However the front double is very small and if you are a couple with double luggage you would be advised to choose another room.Pam was very helpful ,calling a taxi for us to go into Newcastle.
The breakfast was delicious- served in the sunroom with a view of Slieve Donard. The potato waffle was very tasty

We stayed here for 2 nights, and we received a wonderful warm welcome. Very helpful with recommendations on where to eat in the evenings and of places to visit during the day. The accommodation was brilliant and situations within the annex of the house. Brilliantly situated to explore the forest which is close by and also where the game of thrones is filmed. Brilliant selection for breakfast. Really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay here again. Newcastle is close by with plenty to see and do.

"We had a back room with a lovely view of fields, very quiet although I think the front would be as peaceful as the house is located up a quiet road."
