I stayed overnight here on New Years Eve after attending a wedding at the Slieve Donard Hotel, and was relieved at how reasonable the price was. When I arrived, staff made me feel so welcome, and helped me up to my room with all my stuff. They couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, and honestly were an absolute delight...

I stayed here back in July while walking around Ireland in aid of Pieta House, and the Donard Hotel graciously offered to put me up for the night. I was warmly welcomed by Pat and Natasha, who really couldn't do enough for you. I had a fantastic sleep in a comfortable room and the breakfast the next day was delicious....

I traveled to Newcastle for a Van Morrison concert in July. I am glad I was unable to get a room at the Slieve Donard to afford me the experience of the very homey Donard Hotel. We were greeted and shown to our room by Pat, pretty sure that was really his name. No, it is not a sparkling new,...

We stayed here for a hen party in August and it couldn't have been better. We had a great time, everything went smoothly, (we were a group of 20!) and nothing was too much trouble- every request was handled in a friendly and professional way. We had dinner in a private section of the restaurant which made the event very...

The man at the desk pat was great and the room was spacious if a bit worn. The bed was fine with a smaller bed next. I think we may have been the only people staying there (it was a Monday night) so I believe we got a choice room. As I said in the title, this place is a...

Breakfast made to order and very fresh and tasty. We were in Newcastle for a Van Morrison concert and we were not disappointed. He performed at Slieve Donard Hotel and spa and The...

Olde world hotel right in the heart of town, very friendly and helpful staff, could not do enough for us, spacious room which was spotlessly clean with great views of the mountains of Mourne, breakfast was lovely, cooked to order and plenty of it, the bar was busy and there seems to be entertainment most weekends.

We are an occasional walking group from the midlands, Laois mainly. We booked the Donard Hotel in March 2016 for a July weekend hike in the Mournes. The hotel is located in the middle of the town, convenient to all the restaurants and pubs. The cost for the weekend was very reasonable and the rooms were large and comfortable. There...

We stayed here July 3-5. We chose this hotel as it was centrally located and near the bus station. The room was clean and larger than expected. The staff were wonderful and helpful. I noticed an iron in the hallway when the cleaning staff were coming through and asked if I could borrow it - no sooner had I said...
