Cherryhill Lodge is a beautiful new build home, situated at the foot of the scenic Mourne Mountains. We are delighted to offer both bed and breakfast in our 3 luxurious rooms, The Garden Room and The Front Room, as well as in our adjoining studio The Loft, where self-catering is also available. We have been open for business since October 2012 and are thoroughly enjoying sharing our home and our views of the Mournes with our guests.

We stayed in the self catering accommodation of Cherryhill Lodge just after Christmas and over the New Year. It was just perfect. The photos do not do the place justice. The loft is in the grounds of the main house where John and Patricia live (they do B&B in the main house too) but it's far enough away to feel completely private and we really like our space. Although it's described as a studio, it's really spacious inside with a separate spare room where we could store all our luggage and hang up our clothes, etc. The kitchen was a good size too with everything we needed, including fridge, small freezer, microwave and oven. There was a separate bathroom which was small but perfectly adequate with toilet and shower cubicle. The ceiling was high with thick pine beams and there was a wonderful fresh pine scent throughout the room. Patricia and John were both very friendly and welcoming and we had several treats brought over by Patricia, including a tasty Irish fry up, fresh bread, scones, butter and jam and pancake mix, truly delicious! The front of the studio looks out onto a stunning view of the Mourne Mountains and we spent our evenings watching the light fade over the forest and mountain tops, it was heaven! At times wild deer would wander onto the grounds but unfortunately we didn't get to see them this time. A lovely way to spend our Christmas and New Year break. Thank you John and Patricia, highly recommended! Jo Anne & Hugo

My girlfriend and I spent one night at Cherryhill recently and could not rate it highly enough. The lodge itself is set amongst beautiful surroundings at the foot of the Mournes, and is also within walking distance of some of the best local spots: Slieve Donard, Newcastle town, and Tollymore Forest. Our room - like the rest of the lodge - was stylishly decorated, cosy and immaculately cleaned, with stunning views looking out towards the mountains. The breakfast was similarly impressive: we both opted for the Cherryhill fry which was the perfect way to set us up for a long hike. As well as using first class local produce, extra touches like freshly baked scones and wheaten bread (and even the owners' own homemade jam) made it quite the memorable breakfast! Patricia and John are warm, generous hosts and we cannot wait to return to Cherryhill in the not too distant future!

I was traveling alone for work and my company booked it for me and it was a wonderful surprise. The Front Room is really cozy, has a separate walk in closet - perfect for keeping all the clothes / personal belongings in order. The bed was comfortable and I adored the “lounge area” inside the room where you can sit and relax or work on the computer.
Outside the room there is a common area with a glazed balcony facing the most beautiful view on the garden and the mountains.
The hosts are adorable and made myself feel at home. Patricia cooked for me the breakfast of dreams and I enjoyed it from the dining room which oversees the same beautiful view as the balcony.
I will be back as soon as possible for a vacation.

Cherry hill was recommended to us and we are so pleased it was. This is a fabulous B&B. The little extra touches like toiletries in the bathroom and homemade cake in the room makes all the difference. The hosts were so friendly and so kind. The breakfast choice and quality were amazing and we wish we were staying for longer. We highly recommend Cherryhill

The cherryhill lodge was a very pleasant surprise, beautiful house , exceptional garden bedroom with every comfort a 5 star hotel would give, breakfast was healthy, full-filling with lovely choices and beautifully presented. Patricia John and their lovely daughter were a delight from beginning to end. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

We had the best visit to Newcastle at the Cherryhill Lodge for 3 nights. Two friends traveling together and we each had our own room in the main house. I had the Garden Room, and waking up to the beautiful mountain view each morning made my recently fractured ankle a little more bearable. The rooms were spacious with great walk-in closet space and comfortable beds. Patricia and her family were so accommodating, helping with my luggage and making us feel so welcome and comfortable. She had plenty of recommendations for things to see and do in the area, which was very helpful since I could not get around very well. We wound up ordering takeout dinner in a few nights and used the upstairs sunroom (fantastic view) as well as the outside patio/garden to eat. We were provided plates, glasses and water which was really appreciated. Breakfasts were delicious and abundant… you will not go hungry here. We even had fresh fruit from the garden. The unexpected bonus was their sweet little dog named Daisy (they will keep her away if you don’t like dogs, but it would be hard not to fall in love with Daisy). Newcastle was a great town to visit and I would absolutely stay at Cherryhill Lodge again. There are some hiking trails accessible from the B&B, plus just a few minutes from Tollymore Forest, which was well worth a visit.

Loved this place as soon as we drove up! Beautiful house in a beautiful setting. Great location to explore Tollymore Forest, the Mournes, Newcastle, and a trip to Castlewellan for mountain biking! Patricia and John were the perfect hosts, friendly and welcoming, and nothing was any bother.
We opted to stay in The Loft, the separate self-catering part. And we loved it! More than enough room to make it a 'home' for a couple of nights. All s/c facilities there you could wish for. We included breakfast with our booking, and we were spoilt! The service and food was fantastic, and Patricia was more than happy to cater for us vegetarians.
I highly recommend booking Cherryhill Lodge, either B&B or s/c. We all deserve to treat ourselves now and again, and what better place to do it.

Delighful B&B on outskirts of Newcastle. Patricia & John friendly hosts. Delicious breakfasts made fresh to order recommend the homemade granola. We had the Garden Room and full use of the adjacent sunroom. Spotlessly clean. Fully lived up to other reviews. Daisy the pup was an added bonus. Looking forward to a return visit.

I loved my stay at Cherryhill Lodge. It's a new build lodge so the facilities are very modern. The house backs straight onto the Mourne Mountains with great views, and the garden in incredible - it's rare to see a garden that well looked after and full of life at this time of year but it was really vibrant with colour. The food is great, there's a wide choice for breakfast and it was exceptional quality - served with homemade soda bread and wheaten bread too. The room was clean and bright with a really comfortable bed and, most importantly, a great shower! There was a sun room with great views of the Mournes and comfy seating. Finally - John and Patricia are fantastic hosts, they're great and were so helpful. At the end of the day in a place like this the owners set the atmosphere and that was spot on. I'm looking forward to coming back for another stay. :)

This is an exceptional B&B. The hosts really know how to make you feel special and the accommodation and food is excellent. The room was warm, cosy and had everything that was needed for a comfortable stay. The sun room to relax with the addition of treats for afternoon tea was a delightful bonus. Breakfast was sumptuous, served in the warmth of the dining room, with exceptional views over the Mournes.
We will definitely be back and would recommend this superb B&B to anyone.
