Fantastic experience from the moment we walked in last minute to book a room, the receptionist was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and helped us plan out our time in Derry. The room was stunning with an incredible view of the river and city. Located perfectly within waking distance of all of the main places in the city centre. The gym, pool and spa were really well maintained and managed in COVID times. Naoimh was really friendly and gave lots of advice on things to do and see after a lovely swim, jacuzzi and workout. Would highly recommend and will be returning.
For Starters we booked a Superior Room located on the 6 floor, the room was bitterly cold no electric sockets by the bedside cabinets,no heater or radiators or towel/rails in the Bathroom Appsolutely Freezing, one staff member said he would supply me with a electric lead to charge my mobile phone, what a joke I am paying big money for a Superior room for week to be allocated room like that was just unbelievable, I was told the room wouldn’t be serviced until the fifth day, and if you need towels changed go see if u can see a maid and exchange towels another Joke, eventually I got through to the staff and was allocated room on the fifth floor 60% better, to get the bin empty is another chapter, staying in this Hotel was just a really bad experience, I know we are going through a pandemic and we all have to abide bye the rules and regulations, surely before guests pay money upfront should have been told of all the rules and changes that was to happen while I was staying there, this was definitely easy money for this Hotel Group , So be Very Careful if you intend to stay there. …
We returned to our home city for a week 22-29 th September . Due to Covid restrictions we booked into the City Hotel rather than staying with friends. It was just fantastic! We felt totally safe and the staff were just so friendly and helpful. Special mention to manager Conor and receptionist Maeve. We stayed in the Seamus Heaney suite , sheer luxury and fantastic views of the city. The hotel is so central and the foyer was great for meeting up with friends whilst still observing Covid guidelines. The restaurant is first class, thoroughly recommend the steak and lemon tart for dessert. The City Hotel made our visit to Derry just wonderful! Thank u to all staff. Jacinta &Paddy Bradley
Myself and my wife stayed here 23-24/9/20. Another great stay was had. Our room was a Superior room with a lovely view of the river Foyle and the Peace Bridge. Room was spotless. We were b&b with 2 x evening meals in our deal, food was excellent. All staff in hotel were attentive and helpful. Hotel very handy to Bus station and City Centre. Looking forward to our next stay. Would like to mention Veronica, our housekeeper, very pleasant and helpful. Also Shania and Carla in the Restaurant and Aileen at reception.
Just home after having an amazing time in the City Hotel, under excellent management, perfect location and very attentive staff. Food was delicious, felt really safe there, with seating well spread out and all staff were wearing masks which made us feel really safe. Can not recommend this hotel enough
