Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our first time to stay in Maldron Hotel. It was a present from our kids and we loved it. We were lucky enough to get there early and get into the car park. Check in was quick. Room was spotless. Breakfast both mornings was good, great variety of fruit, granola, breads and hot food. Bar was very busy on St.Patricks day. Staff were very friendly. Have to give a special mention to Caoimhe on reception. Very friendly and helpful and took time to talk to us. See you in June!!!

What a brilliant time we had in the Maldron for St Patrick's day yesterday. The music, food and general set up was fantastic, especially being so close to the parade. Chiree and her team did an amazing job. Our family had the best time so we'll definitely be back next year.

We were delighted to return here as it’s been quite a while. It met all our expectations once again. Our room was on the fourth floor overlooking the street. It was a decent size and pleasantly warm when we arrived - as I get older I dislike going into hotel bedrooms that are cool damp. The in-room tv is smaller than I’d like but personal preference. We had a main course meal in the deal; my wife had beef on a supermarket bought nan bread and enjoyed it. I enjoyed the haddock & chips with mushy peas. I had two pieces of fish but personal preference I’d rather have a thicker single piece. I was annoyed that the proper coffee machine was out of order but hey ho first world problems. Brekky is always a delight. The staff make this place even more special and as with all my reviews on Derry the people are among the friendliest I’ve ever had the joy to meet.

Stayed in a family room for 2 nights.. Beds are very comfortable and bedlinen lovely and fresh with extra pillows in room too.. The room was very dusty and in need of a good clean.. also the bathroom was dusty.. the toilet and sink were spotless but looks like that's where cleaning stops . We had drinks in bar and some food when we arrived . Michelle looked after us and she is a credit to the hotel... She is bubbly and so friendly.. she gave us some info about doing the walls tour too . The Maldron is in a perfect location to see the city and we will stay again... Hopefully our next stay will be worth a 5 star review.

Have stayed in this hotel before and love the location and the lovely welcoming staff. Unfortunately I feel the actual hotel has an unloved appearance! Rooms are basic, though beds very comfortable. The upstairs and in some places the carpets look in need of a good clean or to be replaced. We dined in on Thursday evening and although my husbands fish was very tasty, my chicken was so overdone I didn't enjoy it at all. Breakfast brilliant. Would like to return sometime in the future as good value if issues adressed

Where do I start... we stayed at the Maldron for a midweek stay and even before we arrived the service was excellent! We had a query before arriving and a lovely girl called Kadie answered the phone and was very helpful! Then on arrival Kadie was at reception and welcomed us to the hotel. Such a lovely welcome from Kadie and very helpful with our booking. The room we stayed in was beautiful. Spotlessly clean and very spacious with a lovely view off the Guildhall and Peace bridge. A lovely lady came to the door to see if we needed anything unfortunately I didn’t get her name but again very helpful. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and it was beautiful and of a very high standard. Our waitress was a lovely girl called Elaine and I have to say she made our experience very enjoyable. She went above and beyond for us and smiled the whole time. The bed was extremely comfy and the room had everything we needed. Great location Can’t wait for another stay in this lovely hotel. Thanks to management and staff for a great stay

Bottomless brunch was amazing. Really good value. Cocktails and food were excellent. Best of all, our bartender and waitress Michelle, really made our day. We would definitely return. Can't compliment Michelle enough. A real star. Well worth a visit.

Great wee hotel and team. The reception team there were amazing, very informative on what to do and where to go. Tony, Chiree, and Amanda looked after our family party from rooms to our excellent meal in the restaurant. Would highly recommend as have stayed here before and will again.
