Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Clean and comfortable for overnight stop. The room was spotless and the hot water just flowed. We didn't have time to enjoy the lounge. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order. Peter our host was wanting to ensure our comfort. He provided good instructions to the sights of Derry and a restaurant. At the price it is a bargain Booked through Hotels dot com.

I can also only say good things about Pennyburn, location, cleanliness and comfort were top! Peter the host bends over backwards to help and you are very well looked after. He definitely likes a chat but has interesting stories to tell, but he lets you go immediately when you communicate that you need to work now. Fantastic breakfast, stayed in room 3 both times I visited and I loved it there. Gorgeous countryside just over the border. Perfect location.

The owner was overly helpful in his effort to make us comfortable and pointed us to the best locations in town - very friendly, almost overly so in his desire to carry on conversations with us (we had to tactfully extract ourselves from the conversation to enjoy the town) :) The room and sitting area was exceptionally clean and well-kept - very comfortable and clean. The shower, also, was a large size compared to the others we've encountered on that trip. Not a bad experience, but I would suggest the owner keep in mind that some people would prefer to keep conversation lighter, and not engage in political discussions, while on vacation. Certainly understood his desire to be friendly, but it helps to understand non-verbal cues when a guest seeks to 'get on' with their vacation and leave the hotel to enjoy the city, vice remain in the hotel to chat. This minor matter is offered with the best intentions.

Absolutely spotless , rooms were amazingly modern ,Luvly hot shower , towels so soft and smelt just gawjus . Ideal stay if you're wanting safe parking .moterbikes are easy to lock up . Host peter was very welcoming and nothing was any bother ..even made me a sandwich/ picnic . Taxi into town is only about £4 . But a easy walk down to and along the waterfront about 30 minute stroll .

Excellent facilities. Rooms were very nice and Peter couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was a feast every morning! Very central location, only a short distance from city centre. Would definitely recommend.

the host was very helpful and friendly, and the bnb extremely well presented. A little hard to find and the numbering system in the area is not easy to follow. Off street parking was very welcome. The bnb is less than a 10min drive into Derry. Not a lot of local places to eat at (within walking distance) however we bought fish and chips and returned to the bnb where the host had set places for us to have our dinner.

Roomy, ours had private facilities (large by b&b standards), huge wardrobe for storage, large in-room tv (as well as another in the main lounge-room), in-room coffee & tea-making facilities, ample parking at front of property inside the gate, friendly and helpful hosts and good breakfast. Linen was 5-star-hotel quality and fluffy towels (the nicest we had in 6 b&b's we stayed at on our recent trip through Northern Ireland/Ireland). 20-25 minute walk to the city centre. The host even offered to make up a plate for us when he saw my husband heading upstairs with a bottle of wine! We booked all of our b&b's based on reviews and many had "10" ratings that we would have rated closer to a 6 when compared with this property.

Experience at Pennyburn was brilliant from start to finish, the host did all he could to help us as we arrived early and needed to check in as we had a wedding at 12:30. He is more than happy to help with anything and will take you to places if you wish to go somewhere. The breakfast is brilliant all your cereals and what not are provided plus a hot breakfast in the morning, it's also flexible on what time you wish to eat your breakfast. B&B was really clean and tidy and the bed was very comfortable. Had a great nights sleep both nights. My partner also left her phone in the room and he actually posted it over to Wales for us. Thank you for a great stay and I'm sure we'll be over again!

We stayed at the b&b with a group of friends. Our host was very attentive to all of our needs, he did everything he could to make sure our stay was the best it could be. The b&b is around a 5 minute drive from Derry city centre (£4 in a taxi) It was great value for money, especially with breakfast included. I would definitely recommend.
