Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to stay - I was here for one night. My room was lovely and airy and there was a kitchenette on the same landing where I could make coffee and a snack. There was a shared bathroom which did not bother me at all as I was aware before I came. The hosts were very welcoming. Major plus points were the location - i was going to a gig at the Music Hall on Union Street so it was really well placed and I got to park for free which in Aberdeen is a real bonus. Really good value for money - I would definitely stay here again

Absolutely clean, cozy, well located, with all amenities in sterility- could not be better! The Host is really nice pal, the price is moderate. Tea and bisquits were delisious. The beddings and towels were crispy.

This was very enjoyable. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, and the location is excellent- just 5 mins from the railway station but in a quiet side street, The property is best described as an "old fashioned guest house"- no cooked breakfast now, but hot drinks and breakfast cereal available , with microwaves for your own food. My room was fairly basic but perfectly warm and comfortable. And. at a time when even modest hotels are charging ridiculous prices, this was good value at £43 a night.

I was working in Aberdeen from April through to mid September and was lucky enough to get a single room at Lochnagar Guest House for 4 nights each week. The first thing that gets you is the fantastic welcome from the hosts Neil and Lorraine, such lovely people who really care about their guests. I stayed in room 4 which was perfect for a single guest and having access to the communal kitchen area just outside the bedroom door was so handy. Everything you needed from tea, coffee, bottled water and cereal. Location of the guesthouse was perfect, across the street from the train station and a fantastic restaurant just steps away. Hoping to return on my next secondment to Aberdeen.

What a cracking little place this is, within easy reach of the train, buses, shops and Union Street. The perfect hub for a short visit. I received a warm welcome from the landlady and shown to my room which was very well decorated to a very high standard complete with an en-suite bathroom. There is a small kitchenette with teas, coffee and water. There is a small selection of cereals and a toaster for breakfast. The landlord was very welcoming and accommodating and I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Neil for making me feel so welcome, loved Room No1.

Clean and spacious room, very modern with access to a kitchen and private fridge. The place located 5-10 minutes walk away from the city centre. Friendly owner with a very relaxed approach - didn’t mind if we would bring alcohol onto the property and let us know that though check out is at 11 am, she was ok with us leaving later. Great!
