Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The place is an absolute gem - the welcome you get and the hospitality are outstanding.

The rooms are spacious and well equipped - and if you require anything you only have to ask.

The meals and service too are good from the friendly owners and staff

staying here really made me feel welcome in aberdeen. The staff are wonderful and every room is spotleslly clean. it was a delight to eat in the homely yet brilliant restaurant. the food was delicious no matter what I had and the chef always tried to put something on the menu I loved. The waiting staff were smart, friendly and full of smiles. It is owned by lovely people who appreciated every guest and it really was great to be treated as a human rather than a room number. I reccomend this down to earth hotel, the decor is lovely and i know that staying here will make your visit to aberdeen worthwhile.

First point to note - hotel accomodation is Aberdeen as a whole is hard to come by. The Larches is a Guest House that has undergone extensions "out the back" to accomodate the Bar and Reception areas and an outdoor patio area - vital for any remaining smokers. It may not be what some people would expect from a hotel, although there is someone there 24 hours a day.

The staff are all very friendly, the food was fine - as were the bar prices - and the hotel was clean and tidy. Rooms were fine, but the shower deserves mention - hot water took some time to get to the room, there was a lack of towels to place on the floor (which will get wet from the shower) - and the step into the showers is not for the faint-hearted. I had left my camera behind, but I will post the few photos I took with my phone, although the shower photos sadly did not come out.

The hotel is a bit outside of town, so you will need a bus to get to the town centre (15 minute journey) or a taxi (every journey seemed to cost £7!). If you arrive late, there are a few takaway places just around the corner from the hotel, but the local pub(s) are best avoided. Stay in the hotel or go into town instead. There is a nice fish restaurant overlooking the beach, if you do go into town, and a nice Indian restaurant, as well as the usual fast food places.

Would I stay there again? Yes.

we spent two nights at the hotel and all i can say as a very fussy
person that it was a home from home. the bedroom was spotless the staff were lovely and could not have made us more welcome. we had a lovely evening meal the chef was brilliant and cooked meals that were not even on the menu in my opinion he is worth his weight in gold. i will definetly be going back to the hotel. keep up the good work and you will have customers flocking back.

I recently stayed in this delightful hotel with a colleague on business for 3 nights. The staff were helpful, friendly and courteous during our stay. We were given the recently refurbished bedrooms which have been finished to a high standard and proved very comfortable. Initially we were unsure about having an evening meal in such a small local hotel however we were delighted by the top restaurant presentation and quality of our food with a good choice and range.
My overall experience was excellent with only a minor downside was due to limited parking at the rear of the hotel however the staff were helpful in negotiating space.
We came across this hotel on the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary website and is only a 10 minute taxi / car journey away from the hospital. I was surprised that there was no star rating which I would have given 4 stars. I will be going back to Aberdeen on business and will definitely be booking back into the Larches

Upon arriving I was given a very warm greeting by the staff. Shown to my room which was very spacious with a great comfy bed. The room was well furnished and had everything I needed. A large en-suite bathroom was great to have. It was extremely nice to be able to have a bath instead of just a shower. Dinner was good for the price paid. Simple traditional pub food. A good Prawn Cocktail and then Chicken Goujons. Breakfast was of good quality, only gripe was that the orange juice was extremely bitter. I would recommend this hotel to anybody and would happily stay here again!!

Found this hotel whilst searching for a reasonable priced hotel in aberdeen whilst my partner was in hospital. All the normal branded hotels were charging what i consider silly money so i checked out the NHS website and found the Larches. At 90 pounds b and b it was a reasonable price and within travelling distance (£2 for the bus from city centre and bus stop round the corner). Not to say I was delighted - lovely room with real wood furniture and beautifully coordinated. As for the shower, wow what power. The staff were first class and so was the food. I cant recommend this hotel enough and we will definately be back. Though hopefully not for a hospital visit!

Stayed at this hotel for business and it was the best hotel I have been in in years. The food was exquisite. The staff were tremendous and hotel itself was out of this world. I wouldn't think twice about bringing my family up here for a two week holiday. In my account, 5 stars

I stayed at this hotel for a week on business.

The location was ideal for me with work only 5mins away but if I was looking to go out and about I'd say there isn't much on the doorstep.

The staff are friendly, rooms clean with a homely feel rather than your typical travel lodge.

Food is nice and value for money given the portions, don't think I finished a meal all week.

Few things I'd say they need to fix out, the entrance to the car park has a large dip in the road, like a pot hole and caused a few scrapes underneath my car when entering. Also the wifi which I couldn't access all week, I was only able to find the wifi service out with my room which was a bit of a pain.

All in all a nice enough place with a friendly homely b n b feel to it.

We spent one night here having 'f'ound' the hotel by using our sat nav. The hotel was small but very clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed the meal. (prices very reasonable too!). There is a bar and also for good weather use, a little outside courtyard to sit in. There is also a small car park at the rear. Staff were all very helpful and friendly and our room was very well decorated and provided everything we wanted - en suite, a desk, clothes hanging and drawer space, TV with lots of choice, tea and coffee etc.
