I booked through a well known hotel booking website and was somewhat dubious at the £27 price tag, but needed somewhere close to the city centre with on site parking. I had a two double bed suite with en-suite bathroom, there’s a dining room/lounge included; great for working and relaxing at the end of the day. The staff were friendly and helpful. Even though the room was on the ground floor, the noise at street level was minimal and the blackout curtains did their job well. What you get for the money is well worth it and I’m even tempted to book the same suite again for my next visit for the current advertised price of £57, still great value. The only down side is don’t be fooled by the claim of free parking; there are three spaces at the rear of the hotel, that’s all. All other local street parking is time limited and/or for permit holders. That was the only downside, I’d certainly use them again though.

Stayed here on 14th feb 2020. On arriving ur not sure what door to use as there’s 2 and what looks like 2 reception halls. We went in and boy on desk asks us to sign in on a print out hands us our key and that was it, room was very nice bathroom tiny and toilet squashed in between shower and wall. So if ur bigger person than average (like me) was a bit squashed and really need updated.. rooms very clean and well presented.. we were in room 9 at start of corridor so as every one came in u could hear them but once plugs in ears all was fine good nite sleep, oh almost forgot before bed I asked at reception where breakfast was to be served as that was included when booked, to be told we stopped breakfasts last week it’s now a bag u can collect or delivered to room. Picked them up 8.30 well was a paper cup with tea/coffee milk 2 small muffins alpin bar and yoghurt and carton of orange juice.. after being told nite before was meant to be a sandwich fruit tea/coffee and chic bar.. shouldn’t complain really as price was good and rite next to union st.

I spent two nights at the OYO Brentwood Hotel in a small single room at the top of the hotel. For the price paid it was very reasonable. The room, although small was very clean and bright. All amenities in the room working and plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space. Centrally located in Aberdeen it was very suitable for a short stay in the City. It was a shame that the bar and restaurant have closed. However, the continental style buffet breakfast that was included in the room price was quite good.

Stayed here for one night while visiting Aberdeen for a gig and I wasn't sure what to expect from the hotel, as it only cost £24 for the night. However, I can't recommend this place enough 🖤 Its a 10 minute walk from the bus station, if that, and only 4 minutes walk to the Aberdeen Music Hall.

It was really easy to find, and there are clear signs telling you where the reception is. I found all of the reception staff to be really friendly and smiley. I was in room 201, which was at the end of a corridor so there was minimal noise from people walking past the room.

The room itself was spacious, well lit and nice and warm! A super comfy bed and heaps of fluffy pillows made this room worth so much more than £24. There was also a decent sized private bathroom with a quality shower, heated towel rail and lots of complimentary items including soap, shampoo, body moisturiser plus toothbrush and toothpaste. There was also a flat screen tv in the room, tea and coffee making facilities, a hairdryer and a radio alarm clock. Plus lots of fluffy towels provided.

The hotel is currently refurbishing its kitchen areas so there's no breakfasts included; this is clearly stated on the website so I'm not sure where the prior angsty rants from other travelers are coming from. The cracking location of the OYO means you wont struggle to find somewhere to eat nearby.

If you're looking for a great quality stay in Aberdeen and a fab price check out the OYO Brentwood, it's worth every penny.

Don’t understand where the bad reviews come from on this hotel. I use this hotel weekly as I work in Royal Aberdeen children’s hospital, yes rooms are basic but you get what you pay for and this hotel is very cheap for Aberdeen city centre. The rooms have everything you need in them for a comfortable stay. I have stayed in this hotel for a week at a time and found it more than comfortable and I work a mixture of shifts including early days and nights and never have a problem with noise. The staff are ALWAYS helpful! The staff always greet you with a smile and say good morning at breakfast. Breakfast is basic continental but one of the better continental breakfasts I have had compared to other hotels in Aberdeen, selection of good quality cold meats, pastries, tea, coffee, juice etc. The rooms are always cleaned to high standard and had one housekeeper chase me along the corridor to ask if I wanted my room cleaned before I went to sleep due to them knowing I’m working nightshift and hadn’t been able to access the room for a couple of days.

I also had a recent mistake with a booking. I stupidly booked the wrong dates by accident but the guys at reception tried their upmost hardest to try and sort it out. But were unsuccessful due to me booking through a third party instead of the oyo website/app so they were unable to amend it but they tried to sort it out and tried to call the 3rd party and sort it with them also. The staff go above and beyond. This hotel has become my home away from home and will continue to book for as long as I am working in Aberdeen city.

Only thing I would say is the hotel should advertise a direct number for the hotel reception because if you need to phone you get put through to the call centre and they won’t give you the hotels direct number and they cannot understand a word you say, I think their call centre is in India(sure this is what the supervisor said) and you get absolutely nowhere with them!

Thank you for the many lovely stays!

On arrival we were happy with our room, it was large, clean & comforable.
Due to the extreme weather we had intended to have a few drinks & eat downstairs in the hotel bar, there was no telephone in the room so I went down to the reception to request a food menu for the bar.
I was informed that there was no bar, that it was closed along with the restaurant & that breakfast was to be served in a bag, to be collected from the reception.
The attached picture shows the contents of the breakfast bag, absolutely appalling.

I would have thought that at the very least the hotel would have contacted me to inform me of the major changes, ie the closure of the dining room & the bar.
The website shows the bar in the facade pictures & it still lists bar & restaurant facilities, there is no mention of these being closed.

There were other factors that were not acceptable during our stay.
There was only half a toilet roll in the room & I had to go to collect one from the hotel maid on Sunday morning.
We were out for most of the day & returned around 16:00 to find that the room had not been cleaned, the maid did appear later but only to change the towels, there was no top up of toilet roll or refreshment tray & no bed made.

This is the third time that I have stayed at this hotel & was happy to rebook based on previous experience.
However, it is very unlikely that I will return based on the experience of our latest stay.

Booked in mid-November for 1 night and noticed I was charged twice for the same room, despite getting in touch straight away I am still waiting on a refund for the 2nd charge. I have phoned and emailed on numerous occasions and just seem to go in circles with them. Twice now they have replied saying that I will be getting my refund shortly but then they just go silent and the process starts again. They even once tried to claim that I wasn't charged twice even after sending them proof and being told previously that I was. Highly recommend that this hotel chain is avoided as I have heard from many others who are going through the same thing and that this seems to happen on a regular occurrence.

Me, my heavily pregnant partner and my two very young boys (3 and 1) turned up after a drive from Inverness.

Firstly it took an age to get checked in, the receptionist was nice as a person but she couldn't work the door lock to get into the other side of the building locking her and us outside at 10pm in the pouring rain. She had to phone a GUESTS room to come let us in, not once but this happened twice!
I felt sorry for the GUEST (but thanks for saving us)

The Hotel was appalling, the reception looks great, the photos of the rooms look fantastic but we didn't get what we booked. We wanted a luxury room with a place to sit with two king beds and got mushed into a twin double room that was smaller than what we wanted.

The bathroom was nice and clean but the shower screen kep moving so I turned the bathroom into a small snorkelling site unintentionally.

The actually room and amenities: Well, here lies the problems.
There was broken glass on the bed and broken beside lights still in the sockets, almost electrocuting my child when i tried to switch it on not noticing. The child safety tie on the windows to stop it from opening was snapped and the frayed metal was left attached to the window sill. It didn't fee COVID safe at all as there were bags and other items left in the room from previous guests.

There was a fantastic water feature in the hallway unintentionally of course as it's was a severe leaky roof! with rain water literally pouring down it. the carpets were boggy, there we pulling apart causing trip hazards.

Overall a very very poor experience!

Bit dated but very clean and lovely staff. Room was basic but had everything required and very comfortable beds. HOWEVER possibly the noisier room I have ever stayed in! Maybe other rooms are better but in here (128) you could hear conversations, TV people moving etc. Unfortunately the restaurant/ bar was under renovation so although a buffet breakfast was included in the price it wasn't available.

I've stayed in the Brentwood many time over the years and it was a nice place to stay and not to expensive. However since OYO is running the hotel things have gone downhill. When we checked in we were sent next door to what was another adjoining hotel formerly the Highland Hotel they seem to be running both hotels as one. The room was dated and could have done with redecoration but it was clean. The bed was comfortable but the duvet was very thin so it was quite cold and the room was cold. The shower was OK but the extractor fan was noisy. On the plus side the hotel is within easy walking distance on the main shopping street and the shopping centres and a short distance along the road there is a small shop that stays open late and you can buy sandwiches/snacks and get something for breakfast as there are no meals available in the hotel.
