We will be recommending this hotel to all family and friends and will definitely be back again.
For food, I ordered a pulled pork burger which sounded lovely on the menu.
However, it came, and it was far from. It was in fact a beef burger, which was very poor quality, and it had a tiny amount of pulled pork on top. Mine came without the cheese, and instead had a rediculous amount of mayo on both sides of the bun which just made it soggy. The bacon and the burger its self was also very oily.
I picked at some of it, and the skinny fries, which were nothing special.
My friend really enjoyed her macaroni, and the setting is nice so the only reason I have rated more than one star.
I won't be reccomending, and won't be back again. There a far better places locally to dine.
The other rather annoying issue was the background music was at a level which was just bearable, I've nothing against music being played but it should be in the background and not slightly overbearing .
Was it worth bringing to the staffs attention ? , as the staff were generally young I don't think they would have noticed.
At £15 a head its not expensive but it could just be slightly better , it wouldn't take much.
The plates had the smallest portion of gravy on it, I asked the waitress if we could have a small gravy boat and was told “I’ll have to ask the chef if we can do that, gravy arrives as we have nearly finished our main course. Pudding was alright but to be honest could not get out of the place quick enough. We watched in disbelief as the table opposite which was a booth had a lady arrive in a wheelchair and they were expected to lift her out and get her seated as the wheelchair would not fit in the space available. I wrote a letter of complaint and received an offer of getting my son’s trousers dry cleaned which I declined and also £20 voucher which I reluctantly took as it was all we were getting. Strangely enough 3 days after Xmas loads of restaurant staff jobs advertised. I have put reviews on their own website warning people of the excessive cost for a meal no better than the Brewers Fayre in fact Brewers Fayre do a better Xmas Meal. Funny old thing reviews are removed so putting one on here which cannot be removed. A hotel that trades on its name and glitzy brochures.
We vote with our feet and would all friends and family to do the same.
