Detailed Reviews

What a little gem this hotel is! I read other reviews on Heath Hill before booking, and you won’t be disappointed at all staying here I promise you! We were a group of 4 visiting my cousins in St Combs near Fraserburgh, so Heath Hill was just out of town. We didn’t eat in the restaurant, had a couple of drinks at the cute bar and saw the food coming out, it looked awesome. The rooms were lovely & quite with views of the surrounding farmland. Heath Hill Hotel is owned & operated by a lovely family. Thank you so much for looking after us during our very short stay. I promise you we’ll be back. Our highlight was when we got to meet Dougal the pet “Hairy Coo” when Willie was feeding him breakfast. What a treat. We just wished would could have stayed longer. Breakfast was made to order and was sensational, a real country English breakfast or smaller bites if you needed. The hospitality was just fantastic.

I had the pleasure of staying here for a weekend with my family, we were attending a wedding locally. We had such a wonderful experience in this hotel. Its picturesque scenery and decor had us all in awe. The views from our rooms were stunning fields for as far as you can see and a couple of highland cows and horses to say hello to each morning. The staff were exceptional and could not have done any more for us. Impeccably clean hotel and the food was really tasty both breakfast and dinner. We would all highly recommend the Heath Hill hotel and will definitely be returning. Thank you all again for making our stay so enjoyable.
If you're looking for some nice walks you will be spoilt for choice in and around Fraserburgh and Peterhead. We ventured out to Slains Castle (Bram Stoker visited here and got his inspiration for Count Dracula's Transylvanian Castle) It's a fabulous walk with some stunning, rugged coastal views.

I stayed here while I was away with work. From the start the owner was really friendly and helpful. It’s set in the country outside the town of Fraserburgh.
The main part is a converted farm building which has been converted to a really high standard. I had a king size room and it was absolutely spotless. The shower room looked like it had just been done in the last few months.
I have celiac disease and they went out of their way to make sure I was catered for. The dinner and breakfast was spot on and fantastic portions.
The staff were all really friendly and so helpful.
I will definitely stay again when I’m up that way.

We ate in the restaurant 14/6/24. Food was meagre, 4 slices of supposedly roast lamb, 2 small roast potatoes, 4 rotten black tatties, 1 sprig of broccoli. Peas and gravy were ok. This meal was sold as a roast dinner. Total joke. Service lacking. Don’t bother wasting your money. If this was all the chef could produce he needs sacking.

This is a quirky place, located a short distance out of the village, that seems to have been stuck in time and needs a little refurbishment. The negative is that, as you arrive, the aroma of the fryers hits you but once past reception, my room was large with excellent facilities and a wonderful view across the fields.
The staff are extremely friendly but the food is very average. Breakfast was enormous and certainly set me up for 8 hours on the road.

Tired and dark dining room.
Waitresses lovely and very efficient.
The menu is dull and best suited to an older clientele. Lots of deep fried options and chips offered with roast dinner?!
The roast was poor; overdone beef, one very overdone floret of broccoli, “roast” potatoes deep fried and almost burnt, peas overcooked and grey, carrots fine and Yorkshire was nice.
I wouldn’t recommend and won’t visit again.

I travel for work all of the time around Aberdeenshire, Moray and the Highlands and this is by far one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. I will definitely be booking in again as soon as I’m working in the area again. The staff were so lovely. The room was beautiful and the bed was so comfy. The food in the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Could not fault it at all.

A great place to stay and will be back, very modern rooms and bathroom with friendly staff. Public areas are well done with some great features lovely bar area and would think it would be very popular in the better weather with some great views. Food is a limited menu at the moment but still ample choice with good portions well cooked.

I’ve stayed here a few times with work, and it really is a gem. The staff are very good, they cannot help you enough. The food is excellent, and always cooked very well. The hotel is surrounded by stunning countryside, and the rooms downstairs have had a makeover and have a nice modern feel.

We were staying with relatives in Strichen. My first time in Scotland and people were so friendly. This hotel was no exception made us feel very welcome. I had lasagne with garlic bread and salad followed by After Eight Cheesecake, husband had steak and ale with veg and roast potatoes, family members had scampi and mushroom stroganoff also sticky toffee pudding.
