On arrival at 3 pm to check in, THREE entrance doors were all locked, so had to enter via the beer garden at the back.
As this was not long after Lockdown easing, there were not a lot of staff, and the hotel was pretty empty.( Breakfast was set for a total of 4 people on a weekend )
For what I paid, it is what I expected, neither good value for money or bad value.

Breakfast was pretty weird. I think that the cook was the only member of staff on. We were the first to arrive, the cook asked us if we wanted a full breakfast, we said yes, when it arrived, she asked us if we wanted eggs, so after eating half the breakfast, scrambled eggs were delivered on a side plate. Quite a surreal experience
When we finished, she asked if we wanted yogurts ( normally eaten before cooked breakfast ) Although the food was delicious, it was a pretty weird experience.

When we were leaving, we left the room key with the cook as we couldn't find any other staff member..

Extremely comfortable room in cottage opposite main building. Only disadvantage - wifi only in main building.
Room was furnished to a high standard and spotlessly clean.
I was very impressed by the strict adherence to Covid rules and guidelines even temperature being checked before entry to garden permitted.
Meals are served in the garden and I felt safe.
Breakfast the next morning was copious with good quality ingredients freshly prepared.
Very much better than the overpriced 4 star hotel I stayed in the previous night elsewhere.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Excellent choice for a safe stay.

Hubby, myself and our 3 teen boys stayed here for our annual Dunhill Links trip. We usually stay at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel but fancied more room and self catering this visit. The customer service was stellar from start to finish. Prior to arriving, Sandra had emailed us asking if we’d be having breakfast at the hotel or if we’d like a breakfast pack delivered. We opted for the breakfast pack. What a pack! Enough food for the four of us for full breakfasts every morning, a selection of cereals, large fruit bowl, yoghurts, 2 loaves of bread, butter, jams, marmalade’s and alpen cereal bars for on the go. Also the usual teas and coffees. The apartment was cracking. Really spacious and very comfortable. Super clean kitchen and bathrooms with great heating and super secure alarm system. Great view of the golf course too, being on the 3rd floor. I hate doing this but there was 1 negative, but I’m not going to take away a star. The mattress in the master suite was quite hard and we never slept great. But everyone’s taste is different and others may love it. We’re going to book again for our trip next year, probably and extra night this time. It was just lovely to be able to chill out in the lounge on the sofas instead of beds in a hotel room. Thanks so much to Sandra and her team. 🥰

I had booked a room at the 19th Hole in Carnoustie.

I tried to phone them on the Friday and Saturday before travelling to see if my room was still ok due to the COVID Pandemic and got no answer so I decided to email them on the Saturday morning still no reply the car was packed and we were ready to leave.
By 14:00hrs we decided that since there was no reply that we could not travel the 150 miles as we then assumed they were closed.

But they still took our money and are refusing to repay me my money.

They stated on the Monday through email that they were open but the bar and restaurant were closed and I had a two days to cancel my reservation if I wanted.

But my point is they could not answer my emails until the Monday two days after my original stay but won’t refund me this is a nice way to rip people off don’t answer phones or emails and we can make money and force them to come back at a later date.

We have stayed there before with no issues but will never return again unless they pay me back my money.

We were travelling to Arbroath to attend a funeral at short notice. Having advised Lynda of my partners mobility issues we were allocated a ground floor room and were able to take her own toilet seat riser. Because we were arriving late, receptionist Sherrill had arranged for room heating to have been switched on so that room was lovely and cozy on our arrival she also helped me with luggage from car par We enjoyed a well cooked evening meal and breakfast on the following two days were also excellent. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this Hotel to anyone looking for a break in and around Angus; The facilities were excellent and spotlessly clean; but above all else it was the care and attention provided to us by Lynda and Sherril that made this stay so exceptional.

Spent 1 night only in this hotel as visiting family in the area. There was 5 of us in 3 separate rooms. The rooms were extremely comfortable and very clean. The heating was not working in 1 of the rooms and we were immediately given another room. Staff very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our evening meal served in the bar and breakfast was very good with a good choice of cooked items. Once again staff were very attentive in the bar and the restaurant. Very reasonably priced. Would recommend.

I booked the luxury flat and was about to travel to it a few weeks ago. As the flat comes on on their website I automatically assumed (as you would) that the flat was connected or at least within a 1 minute walk to the hotel.

BUT NO - the flat is a modern flat 1 mile away so you have no access to hotel for a quick beer.

There is nothing on the website to say the flat is a mile away. Surely if you find a hotel and they advertise a flat they should say the flat is not anywhere near the hotel? Please update your website !!

We were sat at our table and had received our drinks when the barmaid told us their fryer was broken and essentially anything on menu needing fried like chips, fish, goujons etc were unavailable. We waited 40 mins for the food despite being only table ordering meals at that time. Bar had a small number of people only having drinks. We waited 40 mins for fajitas, 2 x burgers (one of which had to come with mash due to fryer issues), garlic bread and potato skins. Staff didnt check back on us during meal and didnt ask if everything was ok when my husband paid bill. Food was mediocre at best. Terrible service but friendly bar staff.
We also noticed a solo diner who waited almost 15 mins to have his order taken whilst we sat waiting for our food.
Definitely would not recommend and will not return
£50 for substandard food and service

Our group of golfers just stayed two nights at the 19th Hole and found it to be an excellent hotel. Yes, Covid restrictions in place, but they are well managed and it made for a safe stay. The hotel is very near all the Carnoustie golf and the town centre, so walking around is ideal (especially with the wonderful weather we had), and the staff, service, food, drinks, everything really, were just spot on for our group. The 10pm last orders, perhaps shortened the night but that also extended the day and made our Carnoustie golf weekend one to remember. I would absolutely recommend this hotel, especially for golfers, and will return for another weekend with the guys, hopefully when things are a bit more relaxed, and we can enjoy it all the more. Well done all the staff, and many thanks.

Opted to have meal as a last minute decision rather than usual carry out from local takeaway, wrong choice! Food was ok, apart from chips that had been cooked more than once, no taste and not many! Ordered combo steak/chicken fajitas and hubby ordered fish combo! A bit of a wait for food, which is a good thing. No cutlery or condiments on table so had to find our own from another table as staff too busy chatting amongst themselves! No member of staff come to ask how meal was either! Quite disappointed

The restaurant was part of the pub,you can book a table at the opposite end of the bar where it was slightly quieter if you prefer, the food was absolutely amazing especially the curry, well worth it and reasonably priced
