Stayed here last week and had an excellent break. What a lovely wee site over looking the Loch. The lodge was clean, tidy and had all we needed. Handy for touring around and not too far from both Oban and Fort William Would highly recommend!!!
Appin holidays did not disappoint on our recent family holiday. We stayed in Fox lodge with our 2 teenagers and dog Milo. The lodge was immaculate on arrival and the views from our patio were amazing. Anyone looking for a peaceful getaway this is the place to be. Great walks in the surrounding areas and highly recommend the Cregan pub along the road for food or just drinks. We found this a great base for exploring the Oban, Fort William and Glencoe areas. Everyone we met around the holiday homes were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely will return.
Stayed in a lodge (Squirrel) for four nights last week. View from the front window across Loch Creran is amazing (see photo). Lodge was 'rustic' but comfortable, well equipped (microwave, full-size fridge, oven/hob, 'Freeview' type TV) and well maintained. Location is great, easy access right next to the main A828 between Oban and Fort William but still feels quiet and secluded. We were looking for a relaxing break (some walking and sightseeing) so for us the location was spot-on but there seemed to be plenty of activities nearby for anyone looking for them. Five mins walk to cosy Creagan Inn with good food and drinks, plus lots of other options available within a relatively short drive. Great base for touring - not too far to Oban, Fort William or other areas of Argyll. Good value for money - highly recommended!…
I was a bit wary staying in a Caravan as I really like my comfort and I’m extremely fussy, but the site location looked great, so we gave it a go. Appin Holiday Homes did not disappoint, the beds were comfy, the shower was hot and powerful and the Caravan was nice, clean and spacious. The location was brilliant, as soon as I woke in the morning I’d open the living room curtains and be greeted by a glorious sight of the loch. I would never get tired of the view. The owners let you enjoy your holiday in peace, Jim popped by once to make sure we were settled and is available whenever you him. Sadly it rained heavily the majority of the time we stayed, so we didn’t get to see any wildlife - which was one of the reasons we chose here..but that’s Scottish weather for you - extremely unpredictable! The site is great for visiting Oban and Fort William, we ended up spending most of our time around Fort William area. There’s so much to do in both places - a week wasn’t long enough! We didn’t get a chance to explore the recreation room or much of the local area, as we ran out of time. We ate at the Creagan inn once, which sadly we didn’t enjoy, we waited over an hour for our food and felt staff were not very friendly, the food was ok. Castle stalker cafe was great for a cooked breakfast, with great views and a nice gift shop, it’s about a 10 min drive away. Our caravan (J) provided all the kitchen utensils you need and equipped with kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, small hoover, dustpan + brush, iron and small ironing board. Beds are made up on arrival. Bring toilet roll, kitchen roll, towels (hand and bath) and lots of midge repellant!! Bring a couple of 4 way extension leads as there are not enough electric sockets for charging gadgets and there’s only one bedside socket in the bedrooms. A fan would be useful. When we arrived it was uncomfortably hot at night, thankfully we brought a tower fan which really helped cool the place down. There was a few mornings when we needed the heater on as it was quite chilly - the caravan did have extra blankets, but we had brought our own. A nightlight if you have young kids, as the only bedside light is in the main bedroom. The only downside was the road noise. When we booked it, we didn’t realise it was a main road and we did find it noisy at night in the caravan, especially the main bedroom. It would be handy if there was a wide concrete path leading around to all caravans from the parking area, so you didn’t have to walk over the wet grass. The grass was newly cut and the wet cuttings stuck to our shoes, it was a nightmare to clean up from the car and caravan! We enjoyed our stay at Appin Holiday Homes and we’ll definitely be back one day to explore the area further! Hopefully the weather will be better the next time! Thanks for making our stay so pleasant! …
What a wonderful holiday we had at Appin Holiday Homes! We stayed in caravan H, which was clean and comfortable. We particularly loved the deck, which overlooks the Loch and is really private. Our daughter had a wonderful time playing on the beach with her new friends from the site. We would highly recommend this place and hope to return next year.
