Cuisine and comfort. Living in the area, we only visit for the dining experience, but know the rooms at Carradales are second to none. But food and service we know well. Our latest visit was a ‘pre Christmas’ one, and as usual Steve’s (the chef) food was excellent. We both enjoyed a most unusual Avocado Dish, followed by Salmon en croute with a picquant orange sauce and an excellent selection of seasonal local vegetables and potatoes. The house wine to accompany was excellent also, and very good value. Carradales is very much worth a visit.

Super luxurious stay with excellent facilities and food. From the moment we arrived until leaving everything was thought of and well planned out. The bed was super comfy and the room had everything we could need. The chef is clearly an expert in his field and produced the best food we've ever tasted. A must stop in Scotland

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. It means the world to us knowing that our guests have had a wonderful time at Carradales. It was a pleasure to meet you both. Kintyre is indeed, under explored with so many highlights, not least it's stunning views, gorgeous beaches, romantic castles, our famous whisky and gin distilleries and of course the world class golf courses. Thanks again and we hope to welcome you again in the not too distant future.

Carradales was the highlight of our stay in Scotland. Incredibly beautiful location, well appointed charming suites and the most exquisite hosts ever. Steve and Maurice immediately make you feel like a million and ever so comfortable at their home. The meals were over the top scumptious, prepared with copious amounts of love and a big heap of passion. It was delightful to sit by the fire in the evenings and converse with other travelers and share adventures. I truly wish we could have spent more than two days there. If you have the chance to visit this part of the planet, do book your stay with Steve and Maurice. You will not be disappointed.

Carradales Guest House is an absolute gem! We had the pleasure of staying for two nights and experiencing the wonderful hosting of Maurice and Steve, they really couldn’t make you feel more welcome. Steve is a fabulous chef and the food is excellent with mainly local produce being used. The house itself is beautifully furnished to the highest level and situated in the most idyllic spot surrounded by the stunning Kintyre countryside. We really cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We just finished a four night stay at the carradale's house. It was absolutely fabulous. Steve and Maurice are the most committed hosts to their craft that we as a group of five have ever experienced. It's honestly like having your own private chef and top notch concierge during your stay. They both kept us laughing and entertaining and went out of their way to make sure everything about our trip was first class. The house is lovely and the rooms are well appointed. The food and wine selection and evening cocktails were wonderful. Honestly can't say enough good about the experience. We hope to return. Thank you for a great trip gentlemen!

Carridales Guest House is an amazing place to stay! It’s so peaceful and relaxing and is furnished to a very high end. The hosts Steve and Maurice make you feel part of their family and nothing is too much for them to make your stay memorable. Steve’s cooking is the best I’ve tasted in years. The ingredients are sourced locally, and everything is home made including the delicious breakfast yoghurt and granola. The location is also great to visit the local beaches and Campbeltown. I highly recommend a stay here!

Hello Peter, thank you for your lovely review. Glad you enjoyed yourselves. Breakfast is very important, especially when on a cycle tour such as yours! I know that you will be interested to know that although we didn't win the Diversity & Inclusion Award in the UK finals a few fays ago, we are immensely proud to have been crowned winners in this category for Scotland and proud to have represented Scotland at this very special event. Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you again. Best regards, Maurice and Steve

If you are looking to stay on Kintyre or need a base to visit the Isle of Gigha etc then look no further. What can we say that hasn’t been said already? This is a fantastic place - from the minute you arrive until the moment you leave nothing, and I mean nothing is too much trouble. For examples they provided us with information about Kintyre and a really helpful map of the many local walks that can be done from the door (we can highly recommend an evening stroll to Carradale Bay). Maurice front of house and Steve at his inspirational best in the kitchen what more could you desire? The thoughtfulness and attention to detail are second to none. The rooms are provided with everything you could possibly need .. and the bed is the most comfortable we have slept in. The food, simply stunning, inventive and well balanced, sourced from local suppliers wherever possible and cooked to perfection (we totally recommend the smoked haddock and cheese omelettes if available). The selection of local gins and whiskeys served in front of a proper fire (weather appropriate) in the thoughtfully renovated Manse is just delightful. In addition, I arranged for a gluten free birthday cake to be sent as ingredients can be hard to come by locally. The supplier omitted part of the address however with many thanks to the local post office, the local messaging service and Maurice it did arrive safely ahead of my partners birthday. Thank you Maurice and Steve for making our stay so special. We absolutely will be back.…

This is a great place to stay. Steve and Maurice made us feel so welcome. It was really comfortable, with a lounge and a roaring log fire to enjoy a whisky next to. They have a good selection of whiskies to choose from. The food is excellent and Steve is so passionate about it, he explains what it is, how it is cooked, and the flavours. Both Steve and Maurice are in the right trade but they say they do not see it as a job. They both enjoy meeting people and want their guests to experience a comfortable stay in their lovely guest house. Thank you Maurice and Steve Eric & Gillian
