Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

If you have not had the banana bread at Brambles of Inveraray you are missing out! Heather, the sweetest person ever, suggested while I was struggling to pick something. Let’s just say nothing will never compare to that first bite…just pure happiness. It's moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The combination of ripe bananas and warm spices creates a heavenly aroma. Whether you enjoy it with a cup of coffee or as a sweet treat on its own, the banana bread at Brambles of Inveraray is definitely worth a try. Thank you Heather for making us feel at home and brightening our day along with it!

We were meeting friends and next door neighbours from where we had lived, before we moved to Argyll. No surprise then that we all four blethered and blethered, just as distant friends might and in so doing had a lovely meal. This was in combo of small breakfasts and soup and a sandwich for the four of us, teas and coffees. The food and drink were served promptly and tasty food too. And all waited on so attentively by Heather. Can only recommend popping in to Brambles. 👍 😎

Nice hotel, let down badly by the business owner. We asked at check in, how much was the surcharge for a full cooked breakfast, rather than the continental free breakfast. We did not get an answer. When we arrived for breakfast the next morning, the member of staff in the cafe checked the reservation and told my wife and I that we had paid for breakfast and could order whatever we wanted from the menu. We ordered two full breakfasts with coffee. When we were about to leave, the business owner (Victoria?) almost chased us to the door and informed us that we had not paid our bill? Despite her staff informing us our breakfast was included, we were presented with a bill for £32 for a breakfast we were told was included in our booking price. When I challenged her I was told that the staff member had made a mistake? We were so embarrassed, I paid the bill and left. I still don’t know what the surcharge was as we were charged the full cafe prices on the menu. What was an excellent stay to the point, ended on a very sour note.

Hello Robert G, Many thanks for taking time to review, albeit it is disappointing you felt this way as upon check out you said you had a great time and that you thoroughly enjoyed your breakfast. To clarify, you had reserved two rooms and booked Room Only – worldwide this means that breakfast is not included in your stay. This information was in your emailed confirmation. However, for all our guests, even when they book Room Only, we still offer a Complimentary Continental Buffet in Brambles Café, which includes pastries, cereals, hams, cheeses, yogurts, granola, berry compote, fruit juices, tea and coffee, which you all enjoyed. Upon myself personally checking you in on Friday 16th February, you were provided with lots of information and I informed you that you had booked Room Only but that we offer a complimentary buffet breakfast and that if you did wish a cooked breakfast that there would be an additional charge. To be charged for four breakfasts on Saturday is not an unscrupulous charge. I apologise that you felt embarrassed about having to pay a bill. Thank you for the 5/5 for location. Victoria (Owner)

Such a cute and cosy little cafe, great food, great atmosphere but most importantly the service was second to none. Nothing nicer than a friendly waitress with a smile and great energy. Thank you to the lovely Heather for being so pleasant xxxx

We were supposed to stay one night but our ferry was cancelled so we stayed for two additional nights because night one was so fantastic and I am very glad we did! We stayed in room 14 which was gorgeously renovated and had a bathtub to die for! The food at the restaurant was delicious and the baked goods were made in-house each day. Heather was our server each morning and was SO sweet! I’ve never been so glad to have travel plans interrupted and will never forget this stay! If anyone is on the fence of where to stay in Inverary, I cannot recommend Brambles more highly!

We stayed at Brambles back in 2020 and always said we would love to go back. So glad we did as it was as comfy, relaxing and welcoming as last time. We stayed in a beautifully decorated and furnished room across the road from the cafe. It was warm and had everything you could possibly want including the most comfy bed and linen. All of the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. The free continental breakfast has everything you need with good quality produce. We opted for a cooked breakfast on our last day and this was also delicious. We also had an afternoon tea as part of their winter offer with tea, sandwiches and the most delicious scones. Special shout out to Heather who was so friendly and gave us some great tips about the area. We ate at the George which was good and the Ben Cruachan Inn a 20 min drive to Loch Awe which was great value and had a very interesting menu with the drive. Will 100% be back!

We stayed in the Lochview apartment, nice, homely and clean, tea, coffee etc provided and Tunnocks caramel wafers. Starter pack of logs for fire also provided. Kitchen well stocked, large fridge freezer, dish washer & washing machine. Large TV with Netflix. Beds were very comfortable and loads of wardrobe space etc. Brambles provide a free continental breakfast 0730-10am from the cafe round the corner. You can walk to the George Hotel within 30 secs - superb bar & restaurant. The view from the window in straight down Loch Fyne and is truly stunning, The Vital Spark from Para Handy immediately outside the building. The only small issue was the apartment was very cold upon arrival and took ages to heat up. Not a complaint as there were no faults.
