Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely stay. Spa was overcrowded and not enough loungers for people to use. One family had their towels over the hot stone beds so no one else could use them. Location is lovely: rooms were nice, food was lovely too.

We had the most incredible stay here. The staff were so lovely and attentive, the food was phenomenal and the spa was such a luxurious and well equipped addition. Travelling with our baby and our dog, we usually find we have to compromise in some aspect of the stay. But not here! Our room was spacious and comfortable, with lots of room to stretch out and fantastic loch views. The dinner that we had was one of the best we’ve had out in a long time. Particularly memorable was the scallops, lamb and croissant bread and butter pudding! In the morning, breakfast was incredible again. You can tell the chef really cares about sourcing quality ingredients. The sausages were otherworldly! The only problem with the spa is that we wished we had more time there! It’s so well equipped. Our 14 month old loved swimming under the pool fountains and it made it so fun for her. I preferred the outdoor barrel sauna! Overall such a memorable and special family trip away. Thank you!

Fantastic Festive Hogmanay stay 3 night package - excellent food and service throughout. Love the fact that it’s truly a dog friendly hotel with our Westie Bobby able to join us in the restaurant at meal times. He even was provided with his own sausage at breakfast time! Throughout the stay the food was excellent from breakfast time, to the two teas included and especially the Gala Dinner on New Year’s Eve. Loch Fyne is such an idyllic location and the views over the Loch were breathtaking We had a problem with the electricity in our deluxe room and Niall, the manager, resolved this really quickly with an upgrade to a suite. This was unexpected and not really necessary but appreciated nonetheless. All in all a great break and we will consider returning for sure Well done to the entire team for making it special for everyone.

We are big fans of Crerar hotels and have stayed in many over the years. They are comfortably furnished and exude Scottish charm. Dogs are welcome and they are truly dog friendly. Our stay at Loch Fyne was expensive, coming in at over £250 per night for B&B. This raised our expectations. Whilst the staff are excellent -friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean, there are many aspects of the hotel that don’t live up to the price tag. The hotel is starting to look shabby ( carpets fraying, chipped, worn woodwork, leather sofa that had been drawn on), the bedroom did not have a wardrobe, with just 4 hangers on a small fixed open rail for two people. We stayed for a few nights so this was inadequate. The bedding is made of only partially natural fibres and therefore was scratchy, pillows and duvet are old and have lost ‘bounce’. No tissues in bathroom and no hair conditioner provided. There was no bottled water provided. Breakfast buffet was poor by comparison with other Crerar hotels, with limited choice. Cooked options were ok, but quality of ingredients could have been better. Dinner in the restaurant is reasonably pricey, but the meat and fish options were excellent and enjoyed by all who had them. The same cannot be said for the vegetarian options. Limited menu choice compounded by a lack of creativity. This forced us to seek alternative places to eat. The Spa is well presented and was not too busy.

Nothing in this hotel disappointed the room was cosy and had everything you need. The views from the hotel sitting rooms and Resteraunt are beautiful. The spa is really clean and has enough rooms and experiences that it never felt busy. The outdoor thermal area over looking the Loch was amazing even in the snow. The staff team were all great were professional and made the experience feel luxury without being over bearing. Inveraray is in walking distance and there are some shops, cafe and bars. I’d recommend visiting the old Jail

Just returned back from a 2 day spa break, and we genuinely didn't want to leave. We had the most relaxing, chilled out couple of days and were made to feel so welcome by every single member of staff we encountered over the 2 days. The hotel itself is beautiful, with amazing views, and our room (a classic double) was well stocked, clean and had everything we wanted. The bed was extremely comfy and we had 2 fantastic nights sleep. The spa facilities were extremely clean, there were plenty of things to do within the spa, and luckily for us was pretty quiet on the day we visited. The outdoor Thermal Experience was really special, to be able to sit in a hot tub looking out over the Loch when it was zero degrees outside was a fantastic experience. We had a massage and a facial in the Spa, Margaret is very good at what she does, and we both left feeling so relaxed. We had breakfast on both mornings, and afternoon tea and evening meal on our second night, as well as drinks and cocktails in the bar. The food was incredible, very tasty, well presented and I think great value for money. Every single member of staff that we seen and spoke to during our stay was impeccably presented, and really polite and helpful and made us feel so welcome. All in all, a fantastic stay, we enjoyed every minute of it and will definitely be back again! Thank you to everyone for making our stay a perfect one.

Stayed here for an overnight birthday treat with a friend. We had spa treatments and an afternoon tea booked for day of arrival. Could not fault the spa facilities at all, robes and slippers on arrival, tea and water accessible at spa reception. Pool area very well equipped. Salt sauna, outdoor hot tub and outdoor sauna were a real treat as it was thick with frost given the time of year it felt very magical being in the hot tub outside! Spa treatments were wonderful and staff were so attentive and caring, very good at their job! Afternoon tea was beautiful and there was no rush at all when we decided to have a cheeky cocktail before it was served. Room was lovely and bathroom very clean. Fresh robes in the room and the tea/coffee tray well stocked. Gorgeous birthday treat surprise in the room! Dinner at the hotel restaurant was top notch and service was excellent - I highly recommend the salmon starter, mussels for main! Wine selection was great as well. We hung out in the games room in the evening which has plenty of games, hot water bottles for the cold nights and even large cuddly blankets for relaxing with. Bar staff on Wednesday night were so lovely and had a nice chat with us when delivering drinks. There was no rush to leave and go back to the room. Breakfast service was quick and food was lovely. Having access to the spa on day of departure was a real treat and we opted for late check out (£10 Per extra hour). Had an excellent overnight stay here, no issues at all and I will definitely be back to stay in the future!! Thank you to the hotel staff for a lovely stay!

This hotel was somewhat of a disappointment. We had called in advance to check on bed sizes as the hotel listed the room as having 2 king beds. When we arrived they were not king beds but 2 doubles. The hotel had sent out an email suggesting we have reservations. As it turned out they were not very busy. The service and food were average and overpriced.

Second visit. Enjoyed it as much as the first. Felt it good value for money and a strong 4 star hotel with a boutique feel. Great little pool area with stunning views. Food in restaurant excellent. Last orders in the bar on a Saturday night was a little a little early. My only negative is an un popular view but the dogs welcome everywhere policy i find a bit off putting. There is definitely a wet dog smell in the corridors. I also coughed all night so there are allergens still present.

The hotel is nice inside, clean and traditionally decorated however for the cost I was extremely disappointed. You have to book a breakfast slot and the key times (8:45-9:30) were always gone, the jacuzzi was barely warm, our room overlooked a car park and the bins which were noisy, fires in the communal areas weren’t lit and finally if you are in the bar in the evening you can’t have any nibbles - we were asked to go to our room if we wanted a bread basket! For the cost I’d expect a lot better and there’s plenty of nicer places to stay for the same price.
