Nestled in the heart of Oban, the Perle Oban Hotel garners praise for its prime central location, offering guests easy access to local attractions and transport. The accommodation is consistently lauded for its clean, spacious rooms that boast stunning views, and the hotel's blend of historical charm and modern comforts creates an inviting atmosphere.
While some guests have raised concerns about the value, citing pricey amenities, the complimentary varied breakfast often offsets this sentiment. The staff's friendliness and professionalism contribute to the hotel's commendable service, despite occasional delays.

Detailed Reviews
First time in Oban (shocking I know) and stayed here in a suite overlooking the sea. On arrival our room wasn't ready so we were given a free drink in the bar before checking in. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Oban. It is right in the centre (although no parking) and is within walking distance of everything. We dined in the Baab restaurant on our first night and it was beautiful. Breakfast is also served in the restaurant and there is obvious restrictions due to the virus and thus you can chose from a Scottish Breakfast, eggs, porridge or pastries etc.
Our room was large with sofa and Nespresso machine with walk in shower, robes and slippers and lovely soaps etc. Bed was very comfy although I always have an issue with hotel pillows as duck feather in my view are useless.
There is a lovely bar area with cocktail menu and good choice of drinks.
As a town Oban is lovely and we had a stunning view to wake up to every morning, before wondering about town. If you wish to jump on a ferry the terminal is really just outside the hotel.
Now the reason I didn't give it 5 star review. I appreciate that hotels must be finding it very difficult to staff just now, so when we got our room there were a few issues with cleanliness which were sorted very quickly, and they also gave us another free drink and money off our dinner.
There was only 1 person behind the bar and 1 working the floor which meant that getting drinks could be a bit slow.
Thats the only negatives I can say, but like I said I would recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to stay in Oban. Just note it is well worth booking through the hotel because we were able to get 2 nights for the price of 3. Originally I had booked through Booking.com, however they were charging full price.

We arrived for our 3 night stay ahead of our room being ready, but were offered a complimentary drink in the bar while we waited. Our room was on the first floor with a sea view but was quite a small corner room. Even though it was early September we had to put the heating on in the room as it was raining on and off for the three days we were there. The bed although small was comfortable, there was also a TV and Coffee making facilities provided, and complimentary WIFI. There was also not very much wardrobe space. The bathroom on the other hand was a good size an excellent shower, good quality toiletries and towels. During our stay due to COVID19 the room was not made up. Breakfast for which you had to book a time was taken in the Baab restaurant and consisted of the full Scottish option with fruit, toast, tea or coffee. The hotel has an excellent location being right on the sea front and near the train and ferry station, parking is a problem to be aware of.

Took up the offer of stay two nights get one free, nice comfy beds, great shower with huge fluffy towels, complimentary water, tea, coffee, biscuits etc.
Bit noisy overlooking main road but that couldn't be helped, staff serving breakfast extremely friendly and helpful especially lady with short hair dressed in black and young lady with hair up , unlike staff in bar in afternoon a bit confused and not really checking who needed served or clearing tables etc.
One thing I did notice on entering room was the kettle was covered in dust and the table beside it was very dusty on wood underneath, this had obviously not been cleaned/checked pre guest arrival.
Overall we had a great stay, just need to make staff aware they need to ensure cleaning is of highest standard at all times.

We stayed at the Perle in Oban arriving on Hogmanay for two nights. The room for bed and breakfast was over £200 a night and is advertised as a luxury hotel. The hotel is right on the harbour front in central Oban and the painted wall sign makes it easy to find. However there is no parking and only metered parking or pay and display car parks nearby. Check-in was straightforward although they wanted payment upfront for the stay. Our room was nice with modern decor but the bathroom was very small and much smaller than the one advertised on the website when selecting our room for the stay. The bathroom was not very clean with a used snore strip left in the shower and a cotton bud next to the sink. We also had to complain the next morning about the shower as it wasn’t draining properly leading to the shower flooding the bathroom floor. We reported this to the receptionist and she sent housekeeping up to fix it while we were at breakfast which seemed to do the trick. The hotel was busy due to the holidays but appeared a bit under staffed. Breakfast was average at best; a poorly stocked, meagre continental buffet and a cooked selection which was bland and disappointing. This wasn’t helped by the long wait for everything from being seated, to coffee and no one cleared away our empty plates during our breakfast. No one asked if we wanted sauce or anything else and on the first day we got no toast so I made sure to ask for it the second day. The bar/coffee area wasn’t much better with the staff seeming stressed and our coffee order taking a while to arrive. In the meantime someone had been served the last slice of lemon drizzle that we ordered and had already paid for. We were brought a slice of gingerbread instead which was delicious, but not what we’d ordered. All in all a very average experience and certainly not worth the luxury label or price tag.

At a ‘discounted’ (so called “members”) rate of almost £300 per night, it’s reasonable to have commensurate expectations. These are 5* London prices currently, so our expectations were high and we were so looking forward to our stay. This hotel left us bitterly disappointed.
Housekeeping is well below par. Such basic amenities as sufficient towels, clothes hangers and drinking glasses were absent from the room and took more than one occasion of chasing before they were delivered.
Service at breakfast was so embarrassingly poor that after 45 minutes of waiting for even our coffee to be served, staff volunteered to refund the relevant amount of cash from our final bill - even though we were staying on a breakfast inclusive rate. The waiting staff team varied from absolutely lovely to totally and utterly disinterested, unable to hold a conversation or make eye contact and woefully undertrained.
When breakfast arrived the quality was variable and certainly nothing to get excited about. Orange juice wasn’t chilled and was obviously from a carton, for example. The menu is limited and really uninspired.
As many other reviews mention, street noise is a significant issue here. Ear plugs are not provided so be pre-warned and bring your own (hint to the hotel, acknowledge noise is an issue and provide earplugs, they aren’t expensive).
There is no pool, no parking, no concierge, no double glazing, no housekeeping unless you request it prior to 09:00 - yet they charge 5* prices.
At £100 per night you’d be getting a great deal. At £150 it would be a little disappointing. At nearly £300 it’s a complete rip off.

The traditional Perle Oban Spa and Hotel dominates the seafront on this lovely Scottish resort. Near the railway and bus station, ferry port and the harbour, this hotel is easily accessible for those who do not drive. It has a wonderful homely feel with comfortable lounges and bar areas and an outdoor terrace. It has been extensively modernised within, the bedrooms pleasantly decorated with clean lines and pastoral colours. Ours was spacious with comfortable furnishings, ample storage space and with all mod-cons but no fridge. The beds were lovely and gave us a wonderful night's sleep. The bathroom was just great with its rainforest shower, local toiletries etc. Reception staff were all helpful as one would expect. Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious whatever you opted for - full Scottish or continental. Nothing was too much trouble. The Mediterranean-style restaurant by the way is a Michelin star establishment in the evening which is very popular with both locals and residents and surprisingly not overly priced. A great place to stay. Thoroughly recommended.

We spent 2 nights here at the weekend for my husband's 30th in a junior suite. It had a beautiful view over the bay. The room was tastefully decorated and the bathroom/ shower was adequate. Our room was on the 1st floor directly above the lulu lounge and I am pleased to report that whilst it was loud with music etc in the evening, it promptly quietened down by 11pm both evenings. We received complimentary oban chocolate Co treats as a birthday gift on arrival. Our stay included breakfast both mornings which was phenomenal - full bellys all round and excellent quality. We also dined in the BAAB restaurant for our first evening and were very impressed with the meze selection. The staff were very attentive. I would rate the food as expensive, if you like large portions for your money then I wouldn't recommend.
The location is perfect for exploring oban and stumbling distance from the train station, wetherspoons, most shops and restaurants. We will definitely be back!
We paid £5 to park at oban Tesco which is a short walk from the hotel and our car was safe and unharmed all weekend

Paid £260 a night to stay in a Junior Suite but sadly we were rather disappointed and did not feel it was the best value for money. The hotel has been refurbished to a good standard and our suite on the first floor had brilliant sea and island views (if you were looking over the balustrade!) Room was a good size but bathroom very small with very narrow entrance to shower. Luxury ablutions and bathrobe/slippers were a nice touch. Nespresso, kettle, hairdryer and iron/ironing board also provided. No glasses (other than flimsy plastic type), only 2 coat hangers each and no fridge. Hotel is in busy but convenient area, close to railway station, buses, taxi rank and ferry terminal. Quite noisy at times. Nice level walk to many shops, restaurants, etc.
Breakfast was as extra £15 each so, after reading recent reviews, we chose to have this at a popular pub chain nearby. We used restaurant once and service was good but food was not really to our taste. Due to Covid restrictions, housekeeping/towel change, etc. had to be requested. Not a problem, but we would have liked our bins emptied occasionally - luckily there were plenty of local street bins which came in very useful. Also had to go to Reception to collect more coffee pods, etc.
Visited Seile (on the bus) and Mull (recommend pre-booking ferry). Breathtaking scenery! Love Scotland and enjoyed our holiday but, probably due to Covid restrictions imposed, was a bit disappointed with hotel.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, unusual for a hotel of this standard, they were not able to arrange the booking of a taxi from Oban to Glasgow Airport. Fortunately, we managed to do this ourselves.

I haven't reviewed a hotel here before however after multiple emails to the hotel being ignored I thought it only right to publicly share my problems with this hotel.
On 2 out of 3 mornings we had dirty cups and plates given to us which is poor at the best of times but given the pandemic we are living through, I find this unacceptable. When we spoke to the waitress she was disinterested at best.
The kettle in the room had a layer of dirt and dust over the top. Again, unhygienic at the best of times but it’s very apparent there was not proper deep clean before/between guests staying.
There was a waitress or reception worker, I am not sure which, was having long and loud conversations with colleagues with her mask down. Why make all guests wear masks if your own staff won’t comply with this?
We were, rightfully so, asked to book in for breakfast to control how many people were arriving at once. On the last morning we arrived at 10 and there were no tables available so we were asked to wait in reception The couple in front of us had not booked yet they were seated first. This meant we waited 15 minutes for a table. Per point 1, when we got our table the plates and cups were dirty so we left without eating.
I spoke to the receptionist at check out and was told someone would be in touch, They haven been and I've emailed twice, again not had a response. I would avoid this hotel if you can, there is clearly a lack of basic hygiene practices from reading other recent reviews.

We’d been really looking forward to our stay in Oban anxious to see the Distillery and surrounding scenery. Unfortunately, there were a few issues that dampened our stay at the Perle.
Initially our room looked to have a nice finish and had quality toiletries and tea/coffee station. The room was of a good size as well and had a good view of the bay (having paid extra to upgrade to a superior sea view room). However, upon closer look, the walls were tarnished, stained and looked a bit run down in general. After spending some time in the room, we noticed the front part of the hotel has a large bus bay beneath it. Not having double glazed windows, there was the constant hum of buses idling at the stop below. It’s also on a main road so I was woken very early by large trucks driving through the town.
In the morning, I discovered, a little too late, that there were no towels in the room. My partner rang reception multiple times to ask for towels and there was no answer. Since there were no towels, I thought I’d try the bathrobes however, one had multiple hairs (not ours) on it and the other was stained with toothpaste. This left us with the very small hand towels to use. On our way to breakfast we tried again to notify reception and still, no one was there.
Luckily, we were able to track down a member of the reception team when it came time to check-out. When we told her of the issue with the lack of towels, it was completely dismissed. I was shocked at how little it appeared she cared that we were missing basic (and essential) amenities to our £129/night room.
Overall, the hotel is passable. However, when considering the price point compared to other hotels in the area, I would urge visitors to consider staying elsewhere. The average cost of other hotels in the immediate area is significantly lower. I’m happy to pay a bit more for a higher quality but this visit felt like spending that extra bit more was a waste.

I think so, they offer suites and our room was a small suite, seemed to have enough room for a single bed.
Lots of parking in the town, most pay and display. Might have a walk but I think you’d find somewhere.
Yes they have Innis and Gunn, and a couple of others in Lulus Lounge
We did not use the Spa so I don’t know.
