Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel! We booked a standard room, checked in and we had been upgraded to a superior. Fantastic! The views of Oban from our room were amazing, as was the breakfast in the morning. The reception and breakfast team are very friendly and provide great customer service! Thanks guys! 10/10!!

First off, we stayed here because the location can't be beat. I love a good view and this hotel offers the best. The building is incredibly beautiful. We got the Junior Suite which was still only one room but pretty spacious. The views were absolutely the best part. We didn't get the breakfast included but did end up adding it every morning as it was better than most. The hotel also has a great bar downstairs which is a good spot for a nightcap or taking a bottle of wine back to your room. My only complaint (and it's a small one) is that the radiators in the rooms were large enough to provide proper heat, but if you wanted to close the curtains they would completely cover them so the heat wasn't great in that case. However the hotel did provide a portable radiator as I'm sure they get this concern alot so that helped. HOWEVER the radiator in the bathroom didn't work and it was ICE cold in there so we had to move the portable radiator in there instead. We stayed in October so I hate to think how cold it is in winter months. We had a car and had no issues finding a car park close enough to the hotel to keep our car for the full 3 days. Otherwise it was a really lovely stay and if I were to go back I'd stay there again no question.

Beautiful hotel. Striking old building right on the water near the train station. Very comfy room. Ours was a standard double- small but great view. There is a lift which was a nice bonus after two hotels that lacked one. Breakfast service was better than most.

My partner and i booked a last minute stay at the Perle Oban and were very happy with the location. A short walk to the Oban distillery and also the train station car park where we left our car (this was charged at £3 per day). I cannot comment on the breakfast at the hotel as we did not make use of this but the restaurant located within the hotel (Baab) is fabulous! The staff at the hotel were brilliant, very friendly and answered swiftly any questions that we had. Our room was very clean and had modern decor, the only issue i had was that there were several scuff marks on the bathroom walls. Also, there are mirrors in the room but not located in a handy location to be used for preening yourself. The thermal spa area was well maintained and clean (looked brand new).

For highly rated boutique hotel the stay was very average. We were allocated a very small room so for two people it was very cramped, the bathroom was nicely redone but as is the case with so many old hotel renovations they had little space to work with. We found the front desk staff unfriendly and less than helpful. Checkout was 11 and no possibility to extend to the normal time of 12 which complicated our distillery tour in the morning. For the $$ I’d search out another property.

We stayed two nights at the Perle Hotel in Oban. The rooms were comfortable and nicely appointed. It is in a great location, very close to the rail station, Cal Mac ferry as well as downtown shopping and dining. The staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was excellent. We also enjoyed drinks in the hotel bar. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in a central location in Oban.

Excellent location right across the street from the harbor, several minutes walk to the ferries and the Oban distillery. Older classic building. Wonderful Scottish breakfast, pleasant staff, clean rooms although the sloping ceilings at the dormer windows provided scant head room. The only downer was the slow slow slow elevators. I found it faster to take the stairs. I'd stay here again.
