Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Loved this amazing site, Spotlessly clean, friendly and helpful staff, 2 min walk to the beach which was beautiful, perfect location. Pitches well spaced and all amenities very clean and tidy. East reach of many local attractions and Oban.

Just back from two nights in the argyll pod and it was worth every penny. Spotlessly clean and had everything you could need. Comfy and cosy. The hot tub and seating areas were completely private and had a lovely outlook. Also a lovely gent went out his way to bring us firewood out of hours when i forgot to order . Many thanks

Absolutely wonderful visit. Staff helped to accommodate my child with special needs for an early check in and late check out. Pod was spotlessly clean and cosy. Hot tub clean and well maintained. Staff very prompt to assist with any issues and requirements. Lovely quiet setting with a view of pine trees and birds of prey flying overhead. Unable to visit beach due to poor weather. Definitely will return.

We just loved this place - it’s a real little gem. We stayed in a Glencoe pod and it was so well equipped and beautifully designed. The fact the table was both large and substantial enough when we needed it but then folded into the wall was a fab design. The hot tub was very private and the whole feel of the place was very calm and chilled. It was just under half a mile down a quiet track to walk to a lovely beach, while there was also a handy shop and cafe a short bike ride away and nearby and fish and chips just a short stroll as well. We were only 15 mins from the centre of Oban but loved the peace and quiet of being by the beach and didn’t feel we needed to be constantly heading into town for supplies. We’re already planning another stay as the safari tents also looked amazing, as did the larger pods.

We stayed in the Glencoe pod. I managed to book the wrong dates only realising this at 7pm the night we wanted to arrive with the arrival date being the next evening. I phoned the reception and they were extremely helpful. Luckily our pod was already cleaned and waiting for us and the staff member changed this for us and even made sure the hot tub was warm for our arrival as we were an hour away. The pod was clean and tidy. I couldn’t recommend Highfield Holidays enough. This is our second time here and won’t be the last. A massive thank you to the male warden who answered our call and was on duty for our stay. Super friendly and made our stay even better!

Fantastic few days at Highfields Holidays . We stayed late May , weather wonderful from start to finish . We stayed in a Highlander Pod as we have 2 dogs. What can I say , fabulous ! . Everything immaculate inside and out . If we have an issue the only thing I can say is wished the hot tub was a bit more private , felt a little bit on show from pods down below us . Did notice the other pods hot tubs were more private , but only a very small complaint. Will definitely visit again , and will recommend to friends . 5 stars.

Just home from a 3 night stay in a deluxe safari tent. 2 adults and an 8 year old. Arrived shortly after 5 and received our welcome map, tent was easy to find and key easily accessible. Tent was warm and we quickly hit the hot tub. We paid extra for the marshmallows and logs to use in the fire pit. Instructions on both the logs and lighters made it easy to operate. Tent was immaculate, fully equipped kitchen, microwave, toaster, fridge, kettle and 2 ring hob, running water almost instantly. Hot tub took a bit of fiddling with to work out how to operate it, instructions would’ve been handy but we got there. The site could get noisy as people clearly not used to camping forget how easily noise carries. Only really noticed this when going to bed, wasn’t a huge issue and we didn’t complain about it. Wifi was excellent and plenty of options on the tv too. Chippy at Tralee was delicious and only a short walk. Will definitely consider returning.

This was our 3rd time staying at Highfields. The site ticks every box for us, well organised, immaculate, spotless/well maintained facilities, quiet and a great location for the beach and amenities. It was our first stay with our dog and the site is very dog friendly too Having access to the neighbouring Tralee site was great for using the kids play park/laundrette (coin operated). Unfortunately we timed it poorly and never had the chance to use the Tralee chippy but from past experience it is very good. Sadly after 7 years of touring with our van we are selling up and emigrating down under. Hopefully though, we'll return one day. Keep up the great work! Thanks, X

We have stayed in the Argyl Pods on a few occasions and love them so much. Clean and tidy, plenty of towels and nothing is a problem for the staff. Always so helpful and friendly. Lovely walks to Ben Lora and the wee pinks shop is always a must to pop into.

I recently stayed in the Argyll with my partner for a weekend stay. I cannot recommend it enough. The lodge was a perfect mix of modern and relaxing. The room and hot tub was immaculate and surrounded to the rear by some beautiful scenery to enjoy in the hot tub. Even though it rained during our stay, the cover overhead for the Argyll kept our heads dry meaning we were able to enjoy the hot tub despite the downpour. The staff were kind and helpful when speaking to them which completely put us at ease too. The campsite is a nice 5 minute walk to Trawlee beach and only a 20 minute drive to Oban for some shopping and exploring. I would 100% recommend the Argyll as a holiday experience for those who wish to relax in a beautiful area away from the outside world.
