Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hotel is very clean and placed in an excellent position but frontline staff non existent I went to let the reception that the extractor fan wasn’t working only to to be told with a smile that he knew as all extractor fans were not working More research reveals this is illegal I find this unacceptable as this was not cheap and when you have to chase up the receptionist to serve you a drink at an empty bar then this is too much

We booked a deluxe double, the bed was absolutely massive and so so comfortable. The room had adequate amenities the hot chocolate and tea cakes were an added bonus. The shower is honestly one of the best I've ever had, roasting hot, great pressure and plenty of space in it. There was a wardrobe with an ironing board and some coat hangers. Close to all amenities in the town centre and had private parking for residents which was really handy. Would 100% recommend and definitely be staying again. We didn't eat here but you could add breakfast on to your stay for an additional cost.

Room decent size and very comfortable bed. Heating didn’t seem adequate, think room would have been really cold mid winter. Great shower. Breakfast very disappointing. I cringe if this is what we are offering visitors. Would return to stay in the hotel but would opt for room only!

Contemporary, roomy accommodations. Enormous bathroom with a great shower. Comfortable beds, pillows. Very clean but needs extra blankets. It gets cold in October! Location okay. On-site, off-street parking. A very nice place.

The Scot is located in the middle of town and is convenient to local shops and restaurants. The breakfast was very good and the hotel had abundant free parking. The only major criticism I had was the size of the room and bathroom. Both were small and tight. For one person, this room would suffice, but for a couple with luggage, forget it.

Great location right in downtown, for easy access to shops and restaurants. The room was really nice and the bathroom a good size. The pillows were the worst of the entire trip, flat as a pancake. I would suggest asking for a room on the back of the hotel to avoid the street/pedestrian noise. Breakfast was excellent.

The room and its facilities were excellent: the bathroom to be commended: modern and user friendly. Breakfast very good as well. While the hotel does not offer a dinner option, there are good opportunities nearby. Thank you to the very helpful staff.

Fabulous location easy walk to seafront and town. Rooms very clean, bed very comfortable. There was a buffet breakfast available which was sufficient. Off street car parking was an added bonus. All in all no complaints and would have no hesitation in returning.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front may be a bit noisey due to a main road and a bus stop. This didn’t bother us...
