Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed at this lovely hotel in room 6 for a night with our toddler and dog and it was the perfect night. The drinks on arrival, treats for the dog and the breakfast was exceptional. The room was also stunning and the outdoor garden terrace area was great with having the dog, would definitely recommend and stay again in the future.

Having stayed at the sister hotel No. 17 last year and loved it, we were really looking forward to staying at No. 26 and we weren’t disappointed. Carrie gave us a such a lovely warm welcome and we even had access to our room early having travelled by train. We stayed in room 5 for two nights and had the most comfortable bed and pillows and the pre-breakfast tray is a great touch. We used the honesty bar and lounge and enjoyed Carrie’s hospitality both nights. Breakfast was wonderful too and it’s now our favourite place to stay in Oban.

Stayed 2 nights in Room 6 Garden Room with our cocker spaniel Finn. Very comfortable & enjoyable stay. Only negatives we found were the gate to access Dunollie Woods from the garden doesn't allow re-entry after exiting due to latch closure. A key to access from outside would be better. The wardrobe doors need hinges oiling, very loud squeaking! Pre breakfast tray did not arrive on our second morning. Breakfast was very good, freshly prepared to order & generous portions. Staff very friendly & helpful. Christina & Keith

A lovely boutique hotel but way overpriced! Breakfast was delicious and there were many lovely touches including Prosecco on arrival and pre-breakfast croissants and orange juice, but rooms are very small considering the February prices are well over £200.

I cannot recommend no 26 by the sea highly enough. We were in room 2 with a wonderful bay window seaview, the most comfortable super king size bed with oversize pillows. The room was elegant and furnished with everything you could need. Although the hotel was full we didn't hear anything from other rooms. We took our little Chihuahua with us it was super dog friendly. We had breakfast with him in the lounge and he very much enjoyed being fussed over. Breakfast was superb with a huge list of choices and freshly prepared A lovely walk into Oban although the seafront, easy parking and the most professional and friendly staff we have ever encountered make a repeat stay a certainty. And Monty is looking forward to it already!

What a beautiful hotel with lovely sea views. We had a warm welcome with a glass of bubbly as we checked in. Everything was explained and the lady took the time to chat and take our breakfast orders for the next morning. Some of the little personal touches are certainly well thought out and appreciated. such as, the hot croissants and fresh juice left outside your room door each morning at 7:30. Cloth napkins and the servers wearing white gloves in the breakfast room. Waking up in the morning to the Ferry announcements was charming and your far enough away not to be annoying. I was impressed with the automatic foot light in our bathroom that gently lit the room and not disturb others. Its about a 20 minute walk to the centre of Oban, this is one hotel we shall return too.

From the moment we arrived we were treated very well. The place is extremely well decorated and spotless. Our room had a fantastic view. Breakfast was wonderful beautifully presented. We will be back! . 1 minor point we had eggs Benedict, again beautifully presented, however the hollandaise sauce was not home made.

Fantastic break. Dog friendly. Room fantastic. Unique decor and staff. Made us and Angus our dog feel at ease and nothing a bother. Chef David and Brenda, great team. The 8 course taster menu we had with them was amazing and the banter topped it off. Will definitely be back.

We were greeted by a lovely lady, a glass of fizz, shown to our wonderful room! They couldn’t do enough for us. The breakfast was delicious! Loved the fresh pastries and juice at our door every morning. The building has been renovated to an extremely high standard, you will not be disappointed.
