Beautiful accommodation in a fantastic location at the quiet end of the promenade. On site parking was great. Book room #10, you won't be disappointed! Our room was huge, immaculate, super comfy 4 post king bed, large sitting area in bay window looking out at the promenade and bay. The bathroom was huge and updated nicely. Very friendly check in from host. No breakfast, but loads of options in the area. We enjoyed watching the ferries come and go from our sitting area. We stayed only one night as we were catching the ferry to Mull the next morning and were sad to leave our amazing accommodation. A great base for exploring the area and we would definitely book again if in the the area. 10/10!

Stayed here this week and was greeted by Frances and Colin, after the enhanced COVID welcome and most comprehensive safety precaution briefing, we were shown to our lovely room which was spacious and had everything you could need as well as a lovely furnished Bathroom with a big luxurious bath, breakfast was lovely cooked Scottish fry up and on the second day I had the special of pancakes and fruit which was really nice. The Guest house has on site parking with allocated space and we were alerted before hand as to where our space was located. In terms of location it is situated near the town centre and had a side view of the harbour, the guest house itself is located by the waterside which was a lovely walk. Special thanks to Frances and Colin for a fantastic stay and your hospitality.

Needless to say travelling during these strange times is very different, however we received a warm welcome once again at Kilchrennan house, Frances and Colin have a great stay safe regime, the room number 5 was great with a fantastic view of Oban Bay.

Breakfast was spot on Colin really knows how to cook with a wide selection of food, the tables are well spaced out for social distancing and time slots allocated to avoid crowding, all tables were sanitised between visitors, and sanitising stations were available throughout the hotel.

You can actively feel the effort put in to maintain these standards by Frances and Colin, we would thoroughly recommend a visit if you get the chance.

Can’t wait till our next visit, stay safe and enjoy the warm hospitality of this great hotel.

My Mum and I stayed for 3 nights last September and we enjoyed it so much we have booked up to go back this June.

Frances was very welcoming and attentive and our room had a spectacular view so we have booked the same one again. The cooked breakfast was delicious and the place was spotless and COVID guidelines adhered to.

The guest house is also in an excellent location - just a short walk along the promenade to get to the ferry terminal and the main town.

Looking forward to our next visit!

We stayed at Kilchrenan House for four nights. This was our first trip away since lockdown and I had a certain amount of reservation but Frances could not have done more to make our stay safe.

There was hand sanitiser at the front door and reception, outside the dining room and in our room. All staff wore masks and guests were also required to do so when leaving their rooms. Everything was extremely clean and we were given sanitised keys in a bag on check in. A huge amount of thought had gone into how to serve breakfast safely with Frances doing all the service herself in a mask and apron to avoid exposing guests to more than one member of staff. Tables were well spaced out and were scrupulously wiped down as were chair seats and backs.

We could have porridge with whisky and cream to start breakfast followed by a choice of bacon and eggs, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon or pancake with an array of fresh fruit and tea/coffee toast and juice - an excellent amount of choice given the difficult times under which they are operating.

Colin gave us brilliant advice about where to visit and what to look out for and made some great restaurant recommendations. We really enjoyed our trip away and wanted to thank you both for taking such good care. You both remained positive despite the challenging circumstances and the fact that you had already lost three months of business during lockdown.

It’s hard to know where to start with this review, best word to describe this wee gem is amazing! Having stayed in numerous locations around Scotland with my photographer hubby we have experienced a wide variety of accommodations and this one definitely ticks all the boxes hence the reason this was our second visit. Colin and Frances are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. Rooms are spotlessly clean and in light of the recent situation with covid they have gone above and beyond in ensuring that all guests are safe. This was our first trip since the pandemic and were a bit worried but after observing all the measures in place we were totally at ease. Our room for our first visit was gorgeous with a very comfy bed, for this visit we went for room No 5 and I have to say we fell in love with the room. The decor, the views over the water, gorgeous bathroom and the enormous bed were all amazing. Breakfast in the morning on both visits have been great. I can 100% recommend the pancakes for anyone wanting a change from the traditional breakfast. Frances goes out of her way ensuring that all guests are catered for offering extra tea, coffee and toast etc and making sure everyone is happy. No matter what was asked for on our part was never a problem and even though she was rushed off her feet always made time for a chat. We are only home about an hour and have started arranging our next trip. Best advice I could give is book direct. Their website gives you very accurate room descriptions and allows you to select which one you want. The location in my opinion is one of the best in Oban.

We stayed at Kilchrenan House for two nights and allocated room 14.

The view from the bedroom was partly obstructed as we were facing the side of the building and not able to see much of the bay. The room was ok with a double bed with a very small en-suite shower room with the tiniest of sinks! However the cleanliness of the shower room was very good with toiletries provided.

We were on a whistle stop tour of Scotland for 1 week and were looking forward to visiting Oban and our hosts Colin and Frances were very knowledgeable about where to visit and places to eat which enabled us to walk from the B&B into Oban town centre.

Breakfast was served extremely quickly and full hearty which really filled you up for the day ahead with plenty of choice to choose from.

I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone that is visiting Oban and we will be back as the friendliness of the owners and staff alike were excellent.

There was hand sanitiser at the front door and reception, outside the dining room and in our room. All staff wore masks and guests were also required to do so when leaving their rooms. Although we only stayed one night, Frances couldn’t have been more welcoming. We stayed in the recently redecorated Room 10 - it was so comfortable & even boasted a gorgeous view of the water from our window. Breakfast was delicious with both of us deciding to have scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Despite being rushed off her feet during breakfast, Frances still made time to have a quick chat. For anyone worrying about COVID, Frances & Colin really go above & beyond on their safety procedures, couldn’t fault them.

This was a long weekend for me and my husband and we sure did enjoy it. Stayed for 3 nights and we would definitely recommend. Received a warm, friendly welcome by Frances and Colin, was explained all the covid policies. We felt safe within their premises and there was plenty of hand cleanser around the guest house. Given our breakfast options and asked which time we would like and we enjoyed our breakfast each morning. Because they were unable to enter our room to clean during our stay, which we understood and happy with, Frances asked each morning if there was anything we required and it was sitting by our door by the time we finished breakfast. We had the best nights sleep, such a comfortable bed, great sea view and everything very clean and comfortable. Thanks again to you both, keep up the great work. See you next time in Oban.

Just had the pleasure of an overnight stay. The location of the guest house is perfect overlooking Oban bay. Our en-suite room was spacious and clean. Our large double bed was also comfortable. The owners Colin and Frances are doing a fab job during this difficult time and have implemented all recommended safety measures. They made us feel very welcome and advised us about local attractions bars and restaurants. Service was excellent and our full Scottish breakfast In the morning was delicious.
