Heading back home we stopped off at short notice to break up our journey at taras b&b, hospitality alone the owner scores ten out of ten was made to feel very welcome and our baby daughter was made a fuss of. As for the room (which are high rooms) it did take a while to warm up, bit everything else... More

We had to make a very brief visit to Galashiels and Tara House ticked all the boxes. We were made most welcome, the rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast - just what you would hope for! All in all, although a short visit, a most enjoyable one.

It was clean which is obviously very important and very easy place to find and within minutes of the town good location although after been out working in cold all day the rooms(5) and (2) were inadequately heated and the heating was on but this maybe be because it's an old Victorian style house and not fully double glazed, previous... Very welcoming , cheery place to come and stay at. A wide selection of choices for breakfast. The rooms are very big for a family to come to. The bedroom and bathroom are very clean. I always come here a couple times a year. The rooms are very cosy and there are lovely views of the hills outside your window... More

Our stay at Tara House was wonderful, we were made to feel like we were at home . The house was a beautiful old style place that had lots of character. Breakfast was good and host was very hospital. We would definatley recommend to others.

Victorian building with charming exterior and lovely high-ceilinged rooms. Room was cosy with a very comfortable bed. Looked out over the road but still had nice view of the hills. A cheery greeting from Marjorie on arrival and in the morning when we came down for a sumptuous breakfast that I am still walking off! Only problem if it could... More

Stayed here twice now whilst visiting relatives. Surspisingly dose not have a web site as its better then other B & Bs in Galashiels. Rooms are typically victorian - spacious - clean and 2/3 stars quality. Breakfast is ample and served with a good choice of cooked or cereals/toast. Location is good and is only 5 mins walk from town... More
