Stayed here for 1 night for a business/ leisure weekend. Alan greeted us and was extremely friendly and helpful! The room was a good size and was extremely clean and tidy which was great! Alan then told us he would sort us both some breakfast in the morning and even had vegetarian options for us too! The whole guest house is very homely and the beds were really comfy! Would recommend to anybody who wants a base whilst exploring the Scottish border towns!
Alan, his daughters (and lovely dog) were extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room (number 1) was large and bright with lovely big windows. All COVID-19 procedures were adhered to. Alan was extra helpful and went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant stay - he booked a restaurant for us to have dinner which was lovely and walking distance. He also kindly returned a ring I had left behind, free of charge. Breakfast was plentiful and all you could want, with Alan always around to top up drinks or serve more toast.
We had a lovely weekend staying with Alan, brilliant host. Saddened to see the review below us as Alan really does make sure his customers are well looked after, really good recommendations, cleaned to standards, girls wearing face coverings at breakfast hand sanitizer outside door, felt really comfortable, rooms cleaned daily and use of the kitchen was a bonus. Good breakfast, really recommend if you are looking for somewhere that you can feel comfortable
We had booked here but didn't stay once we had been shown the rooms. The downstairs room was poky and dank. Very unattractive. The other two we were shown weren't much better and there was a Staffordshire Terrier running around the place.
Alan and daughter were very welcoming, advising us on restaurants, fishing, golf courses and local knowledge. The room was nice and clean, breakfast was everything you could ask for and more. It was a short walk into the heart of town and there was no problem finding a parking spot. Overall excellent value for money. Nearly forgot to give a mention to the dog, what a cutie, like an extra member of the team. Thanks for a great few days.
