Stayed here for one night and also ate in the restaurant. The owners were very helpful in accommodating a change in our booking and also accommodating my dietary requirements in the restaurant. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The room was small, but clean and comfortable, with the only problem being that the extract fan from the kitchen was just below our window, so until this stopped, we could not sleep. We had to leave the window open, as it was so hot. Would stay here again if in the area.

Stopped 2 nights while attending dog shows in the area. I must say this is the most welcoming place i have stayed at in many years. Dave the landlord and his team were the most pleasant welcoming people i have come across in the hospitality industry. Nothing was too much trouble for them during in our stay. The standard of accommodation was perfect, the restaurant and food second to non, and the location picture perfect. We will be defiantly returning next year, and have recommended others to book at this hotel too. Highly recommend this hotel. I could not find fault in any aspect. Perfection.

Lovely place, friendly and very professional hard working owners and staff. Food great. Atmosphere in bar with locals good. Very clean and well kept. Of all our stays for our 10 day tour this is by far the best. We plan to return.

We had our hand fasting/wedding reception at the Horse and Hound, I cannot rate the landlord, landlady and their team highly enough. The food, service, attention to detail were amazing. They completely embraced our theme, joining in with our geekyness. We stayed over and the room was lovely, very comfortable. Breakfast was yum 😋 and very plentiful. Our guests had the best time, many saying they would definitely have a return visit. Fantastic friendly service in a beautiful location and great value for your money. ❤

Stayed in Room 7 for two nights bed and breakfast. Arrived early, before opening, but no issues re this. Found all staff to be bright and cheery and helpful. Property was very clean. We were shown to our room which had plenty of space and warm (just right for us). For our second day we requested milk and tea for our room which was left in a bag outside our room - we did not need the room to be serviced. Dined in both nights - food was plenty and tasty. We would stay here again.

Stopped at the Horse and Hound in the camper van. Electric hook up and fresh water sorted then into pub for drinks and food. Fantastic local feel to place, friendly atmosphere.....and then the food...... good honest food, good portion size and great service. The whole place was clean and fresh, all covid rules followed and nice to see that the locals are a big part of the place. All in all, great and we will definitely be back.

Loved my stay here. Very friendly owners and staff who take the time to have a chat, and great food in the restaurant at very reasonable prices. Locals eat here so that tells you it's good. The room was clean, parking right in front and while the wifi could be better, it was alright.

Visited the Horse and Hound Country Inn at Bonchester Bridge. Nice welcome, shown to the room which was well laid out, ample in size and very clean. A fan had been supplied as we were there in quite hot weather. Our dogs were welcome and we were able to park right at the door. We had drinks in the beer garden which was very pleasant. That evening we had drinks in the bar, which had a great atmosphere with very friendly locals keen to talk. It looks like the original bar, low ceiling, old woodwork. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I had fish and chips and hubby had scampi. Both excellent portions, nicely presented and well prepared. Would stay here again if in the area.

Been here a couple times always miserable people and unwelcoming. The bar man who I think was the owner was always keen to close the bar, no Atmosphere. Don’t go! Asked to go to the loo and was faced with questions on where we’ve been. The local farmers used to go every Friday now they never go

My wife, myself and my wee dog Hamish stayed here for a night on our way further north. Great welcome by Dave who explained all we needed for our stay. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. It is situated in a great location with lovely peaceful surroundings. The food and service was fantastic for both evening and breakfast meals, (great black pudding) and could not fault it in anyway. I saw some negative reviews in the past however it is plain to see the new management have totally made this into a brilliant place, I would most certainly recommend this to anyone and hopefully in the future get the opportunity to stay again if near this area.
