We always pop into Burt's when we're in Melrose. The bar is very warm and welcoming, with comfortable chairs and real fires, and if we're in time for lunch, it's always first rate. The staff too are a delight - well trained, cheerful and efficient. For me, the only disappointment, is that you can't get served with food or drink... More

We visited Melrose for lunch this week and tried Burt's Hotel. We were staying at Aikwood Tower (20 minutes away ). Melrose is a lovely village and Burt's was a great find. Warm and cozy atmosphere and the mushroom soup was to die to, as was the sticky toffee pudding. The attentative staff, particularly the vey pleasant Blond Girl behind... More

A Thursday night in late October. Arrived just before 6. Place was very welcoming and dog was also allowed in. A big bonus as not many places welcome. Staff were friendly and professional. Food was very good and we were well impressed. Long time since been here and certainly not disappointed. Well done to all. K

Stay most years here. Breakfast is good but the real boon is dinner. They've really improved the fayre over the past few years and it means you don't have to move after a day on the river. Decent collection of whisky behind the bar and friendly staff. Good value for money.

A very special place with a unique feel. Cosy with all the warmth of a traditional style family run hotel. Loyal staff, with warm friendly and efficient service. Without exception everyone went the extra mile to make us feel special.

We were only able to stay one night at this wonderful, old-fashioned hotel and were very pleased with it's charm and amenities. Our room was spacious and overlooked the main street of Melrose, which was probably a mistake, only because the street noise and street light kept us up during the night, but I would recommend a room away from... Checked in by the owner....a family run business....with years of experience. Pleasant clean room....booked for an early dinner and certainly not disappointed with service and quality. The restaurant was fully booked with many regulars and the host/owner was on duty and with a pleasant/professional manner. Breakfast was just as nice with a lovely dining room to relax in. Would recommend... More
