Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We enjoyed a drink in front of the fire before a delicious dinner and then slept like logs in a very comfortable bed. We woke the next morning to glorious views, had a lovely bath and then a wonderful breakfast. Susie is a charming and helpful host.

We had the absolute pleasure of finishing our highland camping with a night at this gorgeous hunting lodge. We arrived at this last-minute booking after a six-hour drive from Ullapool. We were greeted in a very warm manner, and it turned out they were at a catering event that evening, and we would have the place to ourselves. We did not feel like we were intruding and were made to feel so welcome. Its an exceptional building in an idyllic location. It felt like a very special treat – and that’s before we had the most delicious breakfast served by the extremely friendly owner – who we really enjoyed chatting to. We can’t wait to go back and have already recommended it to friends & family.

We had a one-night stopover at Clint Lodge and wish it had been at least a week. Suzie’s warm hospitality and fantastic cooking made this the highlight of our post-lockdown trip. Beautiful house full of history and charm, with glorious views over the Tweed and beyond. Very accommodating of frail, elderly parents (grab rails in the shower etc) - much appreciated. So pleased to have discovered Clint Lodge and hope to become regulars. Thank you Suzie.

We loved Clint Lodge and its host and hostess and helpers. Everything was lovely, from the bedrooms to the superb breakfast every morning, Beautiful old well-crafted furniture and country-elegant decor. Comfortable and peaceful with serene views overlooking the river and hills. A perfect central hub from which to spoke out in exploration of the Scottish Border towns, villages and special sites like castles, monuments and museums. We will have fond memories of Clint Lodge for years and years.

We thoroughly enjoyed our two-day stay at Clint Lodge after an iconic drive from Dumfries. The Borders has so much to offer and this accommodation is perfectly sited as a base to explore the region. The Walkers – Heather and husband Bill and their daughter, Suzi – are wonderful hosts. Don't miss the opportunity to have dinner. Suzi is a professional caterer and she and Heather are a great team. Truly some of the best meals we had in our extended stay in Scotland.

Visit To Edinburgh Clint Lodge lies out of St Boswells in a scenic part of the countryside by the R Tweed. A short drive took us to Tweedbank railway station for a 50 minute trip to Edinburgh each day, as such this was very convenient. It slao gave us a country location to relax in. There's plenty of pubs and food in the local area too.

We were made very welcome with a cup of tea and homemade fruitcake and shortbread. Our spacious room and generous bathroom had lovely views, but were very tired and old fashioned. The mattress was VERY uncomfortable and I ended up sleeping in top of the duvet; luckily it was a warm night. It isn’t licensed so take your own. Ice and glasses willingly supplied.
