Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was here with family split across two rooms. Tight room, small shower. Odyssey amenities in bathroom, with bottles attached to the wall. Paper bath mats was very strange. Very hot rooms with limited ventilation. Fun pub downstairs with the locals; enjoyed the company and I also fell asleep on a chair in the afternoon. Not a lot of hotel options in Melrose, and this one was fine but not great.

Great location in the heart of Melrose. Room was nice, very clean, and quite. The staff was very helpful. My luggage took 3 days to catch of with me. They were very helpful in tracking down and finally holding it for me after I checked out. Highly recommend the hotel as well as the restaurant and bar.

The Station Hotel is a small, local establishment. It’s not the height of luxury but is very clean and welcoming. I stayed for two nights, bookending a solo trip on the Borders Abbey Way and had different rooms. On the second night I had Room 2. I was warned about the noise from the kitchen extractor on being shown to the room and advised it would stop around 20:30; it stopped just after 21:00. It was noisy but it didn’t bother me at this time. I also had an early start so the fan restarting around 07:30 wasn’t an issue, but would have been if I’d fancied a lie in. Although there was both a bar and restaurant there was no issue with noise from either of these in the rooms. Breakfast at weekends doesn’t start until 08:30 which was too late for me; I was offered a packed lunch but declined. Staff were friendly and helpful. I ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was pub grub of a decent standard with generous portions, excellent after a long day’s running. No parking but plentiful on street options around the hotel. mall hotel, decent pub grub

Stayed here for one night on business after making a last minute booking. Lovely place, clean and comfortable room, lovely breakfast and friendly staff. Great welcome when I arrived and was shown to my room. Breakfast is pre select food and time, and was ready when I went down in the morning. If I go back to Melrose for work or pleasure I will stay here again for sure.

After visiting the lovely Melrose Abbey & the fascinating Trimontium Museum , we popped into the Station Hotel for a brew & something to eat. Staff were very polite & attentive. As we hadarrived too late for a meal , we decided that the scones looked a good option.....we weren`t disappointed ! My Wife had the cheese scone , I had the treacle scone & blackberry jam. Delicious huge scones , both tasting really fresh. I`d never had treacle scone before , it was so nice , yum. The tea & coffee were perfect too. We would definitely visit the Station Hotel again , when next in the area.
