Built in the 1850's, the house has been recently refurbished and retains many original period features. We have recently enjoyed a wonderful 3 night stay in the Bonnington Suite. It was our second visit this year and this time there were some new procedures to comply with but all done in such a professional way that it felt very safe and reassuring. With only 2 suites and no staff other than family , it is hard to imagine a more Covid-safe environment. As we have come to expect , everything was perfect. Great company, luxurious accommodation , gold star hospitality and breakfasts that were a feast for the eyes as well as being delicious. Such a treat. We were amazingly lucky with the weather so we enjoyed some walks around Peebles. Loved seeing the Bedlington girls again - Morag still the boss, Bramble excelling in Customer Relations (Miss Perfect) and Agnes showing great potential in every area. They are a delight. We really appreciate your comments around the processes we have introduced to comply to the latest Covid government advice. Glad you enjoyed breakfast, a great start to the day for a walk in the hills or by the river. Both breakfast tables enjoy the morning sun since we have moved into the sitting room. My wife and I have just spent two wonderful days at the Kingsmuir House Hotel. It has been a few years since we last stayed there and I am delighted to say that this visit was every bit as good as the last one. From the moment Malcolm meets you at the door until the day you leave, it is luxury and perfect relaxation all the way. The hotel is gold standard throughout. You have the perfect host, whose attention to detail is second to none. We were very impressed with the way they are handling the restrictions placed on them with the current Government guidelines (they have even given up their large sitting room to enable social distancing to be observed for guests). A welcome glass of fizz and home-made scones on arrival is a lovely touch and the suite has everything you need to relax. As others have mentioned the rooms are furnished to a high standard and if you need anything you only have to ask. Breakfast is a real treat with a large selection of dishes to choose from. There is even an assortment of home-made jams of which the raspberry and vanilla jam went down a treat. Should you wish to have a quiet afternoon there is a lovely summer house on site. It is comfortably furnished and the perfect place to have a read and perhaps a little glass of something. You can even be a little child again and have a go on the garden swing (best to do this before you have a little something, I think). Where do you start when there are so many positives? Our stay at Kingsmuir House was an ending to the week we got married and we were not disappointed. The house is magnificent, the work which has been put in to renovating it to what it looks like now, is amazing. Our suite was, well far more than we had envisaged, the bed was so comfortable, facilities were to die for (e.g bathroom was jaw dropping, luxurious) and the lovely touch of a bottle of bubbles to celebrate our wedding was the icing on the cake. The house is well located in Pebbles with easy access to the town and numerous glorious walks to include those along the River Tweed. There was an excellent selection of food for breakfast, try the porridge, best every! I wish we had a longer stay to enjoy each and every one! I always think breakfast is the best meal of the day, (good job owning a B&B :) Using only local produce does help with providing a tasty breakfast and the porridge topped off with some local honey is always a winner. We first visited Kingsmuir House by chance for a night in 2012 whilst on a mini tour of Scotland and loved it. We’ve been back every year since with both family and friends and already booked next year. If you like comfort, personal attention and a friendly host/cook/cleaner/local guide then do yourself a favour and visit Peebles and Kingsmuir House. See you again soon Malcolm!
