We had a great stay here. All of the staff were very friendly and looked after us well. I feel that they would have done anything to make us feel welcome and for us to enjoy our stay. The room was very well presented. The bar, restaurant and room were newly renovated but we’re all still true to the old character of the inn. I think our highlight was the food and local ales. The menus are short but delicious. Breakfast was very nice with a great continental and fresh selection plus a fantastic cooked breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

This is the first time we have visited since the arrival of new owners and wow what a transformation. My grandmother literally lives next door to the pub and she can open her bathroom window to say hello to those sitting on the balcony of our hotel room 🤣. This proximity to my family makes this the ideal B&B to stay in and it did not disappoint. The new owners have completely refurbed the establishment and have done a wonderful job. The room decor is lovely and it was completely immaculate. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we had a great night sleep. The breakfast menu was lovely and the food was very well cooked. We had one evening meal here and it was also very well prepared as well as local ingredients. The couple who run the establishment on behalf of the owners do a really good job and were very kind/easy to talk to.…

We had a fantastic stay here; the family room was lovely and spacious, very comfortable and cosy. The staff were friendly and efficient, very welcoming and accommodating. We had dinner too, which was really excellent - everything we had was really beautifully done, and so tasty, including crepe suzette for pudding. Children are well catered for, with a great kids menu, and we were invited to borrow from the selection of games available, which really helped keep our son entertained until dinner was served. Breakfast was brilliant too, and check-out time being 11am meant we could take our time in the morning. We were in the area hoping to see the salmon leaping at Ettrick Weir, but unfortunately missed them, so we are hoping to return next year.

Great location for our visit to Ettrickbridge. Friendly helpful staff who went out of their way to help with our unexpected arrival. Great restaurant food and room very comfortable. Enjoyed our stay and planning to return when the diary is free!

Lovely welcome from owner. They have made Great job of upgrading facilities but retaining a traditional feel.Great big comfy bed and lovely shower and fluffy towels. Staff are all lovely and helpful. Breakfast was so tasty. Location is beautiful.

A genuinely excellent pub with rooms. Bedroom was great, with big comfy bed. Food was awesome, especially when head chef Chris is in residence thurs-Sunday. And a really good set of local beers on tap. And all the team were lovely. A great spot to base yourself for any sort of Borders activities. Highly recommended.

Fantastic overnight stay to meet up with friends. Very warm welcome. A lovely cosy pub/restaurant. Well worth the visit. We stayed in the Swire room overlooking the hills. Large very comfortable, quiet, room. We met our friends for dinner in the restaurant. Excellent choice of menu and fantastic food. Good choice of breakfast. We never felt rushed at any point.

Fantastic little find. Went here today for some lunch and what can I say....felt very welcome the minute we arrived, the owner was very accommodating and friendly, felt like we had known him for years! Now to the food....absolutely divine! So flavoursome, well seasoned and presentation was lovely. Been a long time since I had such a lovely meal, desserts were also fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely, just perfect. Enjoyed this wee day out so much, we have booked a stay and will be going here for my birthday and have to say I am really looking forward to it! If you've not been here yet, please go, you won't be disappointed.

Six fishermen for a few nights needed a base in the Borders.We now have a favourite place to come back to whenever we come to the Borders. Lovely hotel,Staff,Facilities and food.Could not ask for anything else. Well done all at the Cross Keys

Can not recommend this beautiful place highly enough! We were there as a family with an 18-month-old baby, and the staff were extremely helpful with special food requests and cleaning all of his baby items for us. Our friends also filled up the other rooms as we were there for a local wedding, and the staff were SO friendly and accommodating, even when we were probably quite a handful and they were very busy! The beds were extremely comfy, rooms were clean with lush towels and really high quality bedding. Food was also tasty. It's also a gorgeous location with lovely walks and homes all around, and a great place to sit and chat with the locals too.
