It was Bank Holiday weekend and we wanted somewhere near the hospital and all hotels we tried were full. We looked for B&B's in Dumfries and there was a list of them. I chose this one. When I rang to book we were so lucky that they had just what we wanted in room accommodation. It proved to be a... More

Booked the Glenure after the usual internet search, and what a fabulous choice it turned out to be! Stayed for 3 nights. Is a short walk from the train station, and not much further into town. Hosts Freda and John were incredible from the moment I arrived, and could not do enough to help. Excellent breakfast, and everything that you... More

My wife Jeannie and I spent two nights here recently, on our first ever visit to Dumfries. We'd picked Glenure at random, but it turned out to be a great choice. The lovely hanging baskets & tubs outside gave a really good first impression, soon reinforced by a warm, friendly greeting from the two owners. Inside, we found ourselves in... More

This B&B is located in a row-house near the centre of Dumfries. A limited amount of off-street parking is available. It is an older property with "character." The tradeoff is that the rooms and bathrooms are smaller than would be the case in newer construction -- but we did not find this to be a problem. The rooms were immaculately... More

I stayed at the Glenore last week end and was greeted with a warm welcome by Freda. My room was clean and comfortable. Pleanty of hot water and towels, in my lovely bathroom. The choice at breakfast was superb and the dinning room is light and airy. The tea tray in my room had plenty to offer including a tea... More

we arrived in Dumfries late afternoon and booked a room at the Glenure through the local tourist information office. All aspects of the Glenure were excellent. we were travelling on motorbikes and they ensured we were able to park the bikes at the back of the property out of sight therefore in relative safety. We were given a warm welcome... More

My wife and I stayed here initially for three nights, then a fourth to take in the annual riding of the marches. The weather was excellent, and the parades very enjoyable. Glenure B&B is comfortable, with excellent facilities, and hosts Freda and John extremely accommodating. Breakfasts are superb, but if a huge meal is not wanted, Freda is flexible! All... More

I found the Glenure perfect for visiting friends in Dumfries. The bedroom was beautifully furnished with everything that a guest could possibly want. The Glenure is neat, extremely clean and clutter-free and the welcome given by the many flower planters as well as by the hosts made a great impression.. The full Scottish breakfast was a real treat! I would... More
