My wife and I stayed for three nights over last weekend and it was as good as always. We were in the Superking en Suite room which has a very comfortable bed and a good bathroom. The breakfast is excellent with mostly home made products and we were very comfortable as on previous occasions. New visitors should be aware there... More

We had never traveled south of Glasgow and thought we would check it out. We should have stayed longer! Sue's place is lovely with great rooms and the bed is terrific. Her breakfast is wonderful, you have to have the pancakes and Simon's homemade sourdough bread!! The town of Kirkudbright was also an unexpected surprise. We will definitely go back... More

We stayed at Linthorpe for two nights during our Scotland honeymoon. After camping for a week we enjoyed Sue's place and a day of fly fishing tuition as a perfect refuge. The food was extremely delicious, already starting with the breakfast. And when it comes to the fishing, well, we highly suggest you experience it yourself.

Spent 6 nights here, including 2 half day fly fishing tuition course and exploring the Dumfries and Galloway area. Helped by the hottest week in Scotland so far this year, and, unbelievably, 6 days no rain and no midges on the water. Excellent to order breakfasts with fresh eggs, large room with comfortable bed and large en-suite bathroom. Tuition to... More

The gift of two half-day fly casting lessons and overnight stay at Linthorpe was a tremendous experience. Excellent tuition followed by a delicious dinner and a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. Breakfast with homemade (gluten free) bread was a super start to my second day.

All hotels and other B & B are 20-25 GBP cheaper. But indeed massive room en good bed, simple breakfast but everything is clean. Three cats walking around. If you like fishing and can effort 195 GBP per day I think you have good people around you. For all the rest it is better to book in Kikcudbright at any... More

Thank you for your review, we are glad you appreciated our spacious accommodation, we are a bit disappointed however that you have quoted our prices incorrectly for our fishing packages. Our B&B prices are carefully monitored at all times to offer a competitive local price for value of comfort and quality of food, we are far from the most expensive.... More

We stayed for one night during a two-day fly-casting course. The welcome was warm and friendly, the bed incredibly comfortable, the log fire in the guest lounge relaxing and, best of all, the full Scottish breakfast a feast of local and home made produce.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set in the small village of Twynholm we are in the heart of Galloway countryside. There are stunning uninterrupted views from the guest lounge which is large and beautifully furnished and has a lovely wood burner for chilly evenings. The bedrooms are large and comfortable with clean modern bathrooms. We offer locally sourced food in our evening meals which are all home cooked. We also use our own organically grown vegetables when in season and our own eggs. All bread, biscuits and cakes are homemade too. We often have home caught and smoked trout for breakfast and guests who come fishing have the option of having their trout smoked to take home. We have wifi access but guests need to have their own laptop. ... more   less
