We have just returned after staying 2 nights in this hotel. The rooms were comfortable but needed updating. The evening meal was good but breakfasts were lacking in choice and didn't cater for people with specific dietary requirements. I ended up having just a dollop of scrambled eggs as there was no option for brown toast, according to the surly...

If you are looking for a super-dooper high tech hotel do not go here but if you are looking for a relaxing stay with friendly staff and very good food by all means DO stay. We only booked the night before we left home for three nights(booking.com) there was some sort of mix up concerning b.com, the young lady on...

The Stag Hotel is a small traditional Scottish hotel cum pub. We stayed with in cottage room attached to the hotel and the room was clean and comfortable for a one night stay. We had the dog with us and the hotel is dog friendly with them being allowed in the bar and games area. They are not allowed in...

We visited for a meal in October 2016. First impression is that it is a typical pub. However we had dinner in the restaurant which was clean, bright , warm and intimate (only serves up to 25 customers). The food was tasty, home made and well presented. We were so impressed that we returned again before leaving moffat. We also...

We were out for a family drive and stopped off in Moffat on the way home. We were spoilt for choice with a varied menu and the food was excellent I would definitely recommend The Stag and I'm sure we will be stopping off there next time we are in Moffat

We visit Moffat every year around October and wanted a lunch,. We have eaten at quite a few places in Moffat and will definitely return to the Stag Hotel for lunch. You have to picture Moffat on a dull Wednesday lunch time in a town that relies on tourism in the summer months. Our expectations were no great when viewing...

Booked in here for a wedding in the hotel next to The Stag. We had read other reviews giving varying levels of quality of the rooms. We were happy with our room as we only needed the room to change, sleep & get ready next morning. It was clean enough, shower needed a bit more pressure but did the job...

Very run down hotel, we were situated in the eaves and I couldn't sit up in bed to read as I kept banging my head. Room not to clean and bathroom appalling, very dirty and full of mould, the sink was actually in the room and the hot tap was dripping all night and very loose so frightened to turn...

Very clean, rooms are being renovated but they advise you of this. Linen on beds very clean and fresh. Our evening meal was lovely, my brother and his wife reckoned their steaks were cooked perfectly. Staff are very efficient and friendly. Our breakfast was lovely. Prices very reasonable and excellent value. They like dogs too! Would like to return again...
