Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The room in this hotel was badly needing upgraded. On entering there was a damp smell and the carpet was badly worn and filthy needing replaced. The breakfast bag for £8.00 was a joke. The goods inside could have been purchased in Asda for half the price. The staff were nice and would have done anything to help. The shower curtain at the bottom was dirty and should be replaced. The anti slip mat in the bath was stuck down and a small corner which was loose and managed to have a look underneath and found it was black and dirty. The ceiling above the bathroom was flaky and loose. All in all not worth the money. Won't be back

This is a very rundown hotel, the rooms are nothing like the images on the website. The photos show clean, bright rooms and carpets. The reality is a shocking difference. The corridors smelled like old fish, it was really awful. Luckily the room did not smell but was very disappointing. The room was freezing on entry, the heater was off and took a long time to even take the room up to tepid. The room was so cold the floor was damp to walk on without shoes. The furniture and decor is very dated and tired looking. The carpet was faded to multiple colours, covered in stains, and not clean when you walked on it leaving socks dirty. The bed linen was clean, the bathroom was again dated but functional. Plenty of hot water for showers. Our room faced into the main road and this means a lot of road noise ( clearly a source of complaints as they provide ear plugs) If we hadn’t arrived so late I would have looked for another hotel, after arriving and seeing the condition if our room.

I have been using the Accor Brand for around 50 years. This one was reasonably hard to find. The place is an absolute disgrace. The carpet stank and was dirty. The bedroom mirror was broken and taped up. There were broken tiles in the bathroom and the floor covering was curling up at the edges. The room was FREEZING on arrival. The room smelt. Noise from people above clomping about. The reception staff were very kind, patient and listened to the complaints they had heard before. ABSOLUTELY ASTONISHING that the erstwhile reliable ACCOR Brand allows this to happen. Wake up Management: close the place down and refurbish. This is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in.

Used for an overnight stay to go to an event in Dundee. Easy to get a taxi there and back, takes about 10 minutes. 24 hr garage and a Subway right next door to hotel. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Hotel is very very basic, it really does have the bare minimum, but the rooms were decent & the beds comfy. It looks like an old travelodge, the carpets have seen better days, but they're well hoovered & the bathrooms could do with a wee spruce up. There were soap dispensers in bathroom by the sink & shower but they were completely empty, I think toiletries have been provided in the past but not anymore. Overall its clean & functional & we would stay again if on the area.

We stayed here the night before the Dundee Half Marathon. Was OK. Clean & functional. Pretty much what you'd expect from a budget hotel. Did ask for an extra pillow at reception as only one on the bed, but it never arrived. Fine for an overnighter, & plenty of places around to get coffee etc.

Firstly the staff were very friendly and welcoming, they couldn't do enough for us, but unfortunately that's the only good thing about the hotel! Don't get me wrong the bed was comfortable and the internet access was good! However... The room is very, very dated! The carpet is stained and tattered and dirty! I walked around without socks on before bed and my feet were black when I got into bed! The room some how was damp! The sheets felt damp and my clothes that had been unpacked were damp when I put them on! There was a tiny heater that didn't work and was rusty and very old! The bed itself was comfortable and sheets were clean and fresh but unfortunately damp! Then we move onto the bathroom... There was black mold spores all over the roof! The bath was very dirty and the mat wasn't able to be lifted so was horrible round the sides. There were no ways to air the bathroom (no fan) so it remained wet and damp for a long time, which is why I think the room ended up feeling damp etc. The toilet didn't flush properly either! It very much is a budget hotel, however even at that I still don't think it's worth the money. I won't be back.

Great value for money and the reception staff on duty (Friday 7th April at 11pm and the night staff) were fantastic, friendly and very helpful. Rooms were basic but had everything that we needed for a stop over. I would definitely recommend staying for the price.

When we arrived we were asked to pay for the two rooms, even though we said we thought we’d already paid. Once we’d unpacked, we found the original payment details, returned to Reception, only to be told that they would need to speak to the manager when she was next in. Two days later, as we were leaving, we checked on the progress of our refund for the second payment, which was c. £10 more than the original one. Nothing had been done. Since returning home, we have made several attempts to effect reimbursement but have not yet been successful. It’s amazing how ‘unavailable’ staff can be in this situation. It’s a shame as the rooms were perfectly adequate to our needs, but this experience suggests it is not a ‘budget’ hotel at all.
