Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Good value but no hot water, the room was clean and functional but disappointingly had no hot water in the morning for a shower. Good location and very convenient for a night out in Broughty Ferry, great breakfast options. Parking on the street outside and close to bars and restaurants.

When out of the room my partners credit card was taken by one of the staff. The staff member was caught on cctv using the card and arrested . This has taken a long time to go to court. The culprit accepted a fine of £200.

Popped in for Sunday breakfast. It was easy to order using the app and the breakfast menu was reasonably priced, with a decent selection. Hot drinks were £1.50 and included a free refill. Our drinks came promptly, food a little delayed, but there was a large table waiting to be served before us, so that was fine. When our food arrived, it looked nicely cooked and was well presented. It was disappointing therefore, to discover that every item on our plates were barely warm. I appreciate that food is cooked in batches in advance for convenience and speed, but there must be some way of ensuring the food arrives at the table at a decent temperature - perhaps warming the plates themselves would help? Not sure if we will be back unfortunately.

Despite having a spacious outside beer garden in the courtyard you are not allowed to sit there with your dog. There are a lot of establishments in Broughty Ferry which not only allow dogs outside but inside too. Wetherspoons needs to move with the times and join us in the 21st century. Assuming sitting outside with dog would be ok my partner went in to buy drinks but a short time after a staff member ran out and told us to drink up and leave. Shocking.

Booked 2 nights stayed one the room was small , wet patch on carpet , placed bath mat over it & it looked like tea or coffee had been spilled , not us to blame we never used the tea/coffee facilities & I left the please clean the room sign on the door handle , room wasn’t touched the sign was on the room floor & I doubt that if even it had fallen off the handle it would have got under the door & into the room about 8 inches from the door . Not the cleanest hotel room I’ve seen . Food wasn’t great , servers worked hard but wee smile would be nice though I know it’s difficult to always smile at work .just over £171 for two nights isn’t the most expensive but false economy if you want a pleasant clean room . Did like that there was air con , Jolly’s just not for us sorry

Went here for breakfast on Father’s Day , absolute shambles , told food May be 20 minutes, (no problem) after an hour still no food , then they realised the order had been given the wrong table number so we were given the food that was sent out but couldn’t be located so was left sitting on the counter for god knows how long , most of it was cold, this place really needs to wake up and realise that you need to employ staff if you’re gonna provide a certain level os customer service, absolutely appalling, no apology, no refund and certainly no customer satisfaction.

We spent a lovely couple of nights in the hotel here. The room was clean, well equipped and quiet. The pub was an above average Wetherspoon's. The staff were very friendly and Broughty Ferry was an absolute delight.

Really good value for money, if you want to stay cheaper than listed here or on Booking.com then phone the pub direct - as they can give better deals! Attentive staff and good sized rooms with en suite, wifi and free coffee/tea supplies. A great location within Broughty Ferry!

Beds are very comfortable, had such a great sleep. Great being able to check in at 2 o'clock and enjoy the rest of the day in Broughty ferry. There are loads of places to eat but I decided just to eat Wetherspoons food as it is cheap but also was very tasty I had the bbq chicken pizza. I would highly recommend staying here the staff are lovely and so helpful
