I think this 'hotel' suffers given there is no competition - there simply is no other hotel in Kirkintilloch. We stayed as a couple in October last year on a whim, deciding to book a room to avoid the taxi fare back to Glasgow after a nostalgic (I used to live in Kirky) visit for a nice meal in a...

My family arranged a surprise visit for my friend to come to my 50th birthday meal. My husband booked her into this hotel. Firstly the room she was in was absolutely filthy (and my friend check out same night and had to stay with my sister. She got a refund but not good enough) secondly they tried to over charge...

We stayed on Saturday night in Room 23 which they had the humour to call a cottage. In reality it looks like a converted store of some kind, like they used to keep potatoes or something in. It's beside a busy main Road, which, despite the admittedly half decent double glazing, you could hear all night. It stank of damp,...

We stayed in the hotel all of the time it took to book a different one! Having just driven over 6 hours for a funeral we were shocked at what we checked into! We had our 6 month old son with us and the travel cot provided by the hotel was filthy. The sides were caked in crusty food and...

Stayed for 2 nights with my daughter in room 16. I actually feel sorry for the staff in this hotel. Having to deal with such low standards must be so demotivating. The hotel need buckets of cash thrown at it to take it back to a decent hotel. The rooms are furnished with cheap ikea furniture that have no place...

My wife and i had the steak pie a few weeks ago which was very nice. However we returned on Saturday the 24th Sept and ordered the steak pie again. As soon as we tasted it the meat in the pie was incredibly tough so when the waitress asked how our meal was we told her. The waitress was very...

If your looking for pub grub then you won't be disappointed. However I ate here a few months ago and the food was exceptional. So when the meat in my steak pie was tough, veg appeared to be reheated and the frozen chips were over cooked.....I was very disappointed. The waiter was lovely. Needless to say I won't be returning.

We visited the area for a family doo and I was instantly surprised by the lack of accommodation in the area, so we had little choice. On arrival the welcome from the Manager was far from overwhelming. We had booked 2 rooms and while we discussed how we wanted to pay, the manager interrupted and said payment needs to be...
