My room had a double bed, a small en suite shower room and a kettle. There were some nice touches. For example, the shower room had a first aid kit. I had to leave early on a Sunday morning, so I didn't get the cooked breakfast (it looked good from the menu), but Wendy gave me some cheese and ham croissants to take away with me. The room was spotlessly clean, comfortable and the service was great.

I stayed here for five nights whilst visiting the fringe and it was everything I'd hoped for: nice clean room, lovely welcoming host, good breakfast, easy access to bus routes. Would definitely recommend.

Mrs.Wendy is the BEST host you will ever have. She is like having a tour guide, travel agent, and historian all in one. My room was the cleanest I have ever stayed in,breakfast was awesome every morning. We had to leave early one day and she made us a lunch for the road. Mrs. Wendy and her family were just great, they told us the best places to eat and best places to shop. Mrs. Wendy is like having your Mom away from home. When I come back to Scotland I will plan my trip so I can stay with them again.

Any Australians reading this review will know my iconic Australian-ism for this place. If you are in Edinburgh why would you stay anywhere else? The hosts were charming and engaging and their son was so knowledgeable about Edinburgh soccer I actually now understand the antagonism (Consider Collingwood and Carlton) between the Hearts and the Hibs - an to avoid a spoiler-alert you have to stay here to learn the difference between Hearts and Hibs barrackers. For non-Australians just enjoy the ambience, warmth and welcome
