Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely guesthouse, very homely. My girlfriend and I had a fantastic time staying here and were made to feel extremely welcome as soon as we had arrived. Breakfast was great. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Guest House. Room was large, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was wonderful and the hosts Rhona and Brian are great friendly people. Location is only a mile from the city centre and bus stops are right outside giving easy access into town. Would love to visit again soon.

We were extremely pleased with the location, room and the kindness of the owners. It's only a shame we were only there for one night but absolutely will go back there again! Rhona was even kind enough to lend us money for the bus as we had no change and the weather was terrible! Thank you for everything and we look forward to coming back!

The first shows of the 2017 Fringe Festival are starting to appear which reminds me I must write about my stay at Auld Reekie during the 2016 Fringe Festival. There is no shortage of similarly profiled properties in this residential area on the southside of the City. The location here is very good, on the main road (but quiet) and just a brisk 20 minutes walk into the centre with plenty buses if you wish. What makes this place a bit special is the welcome and attention from the hosts particularly Rhona who is front of house whereas Brian makes the breakfasts. Rhona is a one-person carnival; sparkle and entertainment and good value too. The rooms are clean and tidy and perfectly functional. The Guest House is quiet and accommodating. The breakfast is freshly cooked using decent

What can I say about this guest house....brilliant! I've never met such a friendly host as Rhona. It's clear they take pride in both their property and their guests alike. Breakfast was lovely and a real start to the day. The room was clean and equipped with everything you will need to make your stay comfortable. As a self proclaimed hotel snob who prefers the likes of premiere inn as a minimum, I couldn't have been happier with my stay at Auld Reekie

What a homely  guest house with  friendly and welcoming owners. I  really enjoyed my stay here. From contacting the guest house to getting to the guest house, I received a very warm welcome.  Rhona and her partner were so kind, helpful and very attentive to my needs! Breakfast was delicious with a wide variety, bed was comfortable, room was  clean, spacious and very homely, as well as well decorated with an en-suite. I  Loved every minute i was at this guest house and would  stay here again and definitely recommend it

What a lovely little guest house with lovely, friendly owners. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and received a very warm welcome! Rhona and team were ACE! They couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was yummy, bed was comfortable, rooms were lovely, clean and well decorated with an en-suite. We stayed in room 5A which Rhona termed the 'Mary Poppins room' it was nice and comfortable, small but perfect for what we needed (we were out most of the time). It is a good walk into town (1.6 miles - took us around 30-40 mins at a decent pace!) but you can get a day ticket on the bus for £4 (£1.60 single). Rhona was always on hand for advice (and to provide me with hair clips when i forgot mine!). Loved it and would definitely stay here again.

Rhona was a brilliant host and did everything she could to make us feel comfortable. The room was lovely and had a pretty autumnal view. The breakfast room was very well decorated, the breakfast menu was varied and the food itself was very good. The rooms were cleaned and tidied thoroughly every day. Overall I find it hard to think of a bad word to say about the guest house and would thoroughly recommend it to anybody visiting the city.
