Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Would stay again. That says it all really. Only negatives bed a bit high if getting on a bit and no windows so can feel slightly claustrophobic. But great location, cheap and clean. Bar a bit expensive but plenty of others nearby.

Hotel's Favourite
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of Feb/start of March and we really can't fault it. Last year we stayed in one of the smaller rooms at the premier inn hub in London (Kings Cross) and we had a good experience, so for our first ever visit to Edinburgh we decided to stay at hub yet again but this time in one of the bigger rooms. Location: The location of the hotel is excellent. I'm so glad we chose to stay on Rose Street as everything really is on your doorstep, including Old Town/the Royal Mile which is less than a 10 minute walk away. New Town is such a lovely area close to some amazing shops and restaurants, and it's also near the trams which we used to get to and from the airport (though is also only 5 minutes from Waverley Station if you come in by train). Room: The room was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We were on the 4th floor and had a room facing Rose Street but even so it was very quiet - unless you had the window open during peak times you wouldn't know a busy street was below. The bed was really comfy and the shower was great. We also got use of the TV which worked well. A decent amount of storage space too. Since we were staying for a few nights we opted for one of the bigger rooms and I'd say it's definitely worth paying the small amount extra for this! The room was so much bigger than we thought it would be and we were very impressed. We love the temperature control panel, though I will say our AC/heating unit didn't feel as effective as when we had previously stayed in the smaller room (but to be fair it didn't impact our stay too much - we just found we were a little bit cold sometimes in the morning). Staff: The staff were lovely! We didn't interact with them much but they were very accommodating and were happy to hold our bags for us before check in and for a few hours after we had checked out on our last day. Facilities: We ate in the restaurant for breakfast on our first morning and were happy with the selection. For £5 each it's a bargain and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Access to the hotel and security is good - keycard is needed to get through to the lifts and the room floors so it is very secure. Price: Can't really go wrong - it's great value for money. We are a young couple and on a budget so this was perfect for us. Lovely hub! Thank you for a pleasant stay.

This was exactly what I wanted for the night. An affordable room with a very comfortable bed. Rooms are small, not made for staying in all day but that's perfect for a tourist who wants to spend their day in the city. Everything was co.fortable and nice

Premier Inn needs to make it clear what "Hub" means. I thought it meant based in the city centre. Instead it meant we booked a Valentines trip to Edinburgh in a horrible little room with a thin slit window and bed against the wall that felt like a prison. I had a terrible nights sleep and felt like my head was in a vice, which may have been because there was an electronic touch screen panel directly behind my pillow. You should never sleep with wires or electronics directly behind your head because the electromagnetic fields disrupt your body. Awful anti-human design for a bed. I phoned when we arrived and asked to be transferred as suffer claustrophobia and just looking at the room almost gave me a panic attack. Was told nothing staff could do until the morning when the manager arrived. Phoned him first thing and begged to be moved to a normal premier Inn. Was told Hubs arent Premier Inn. I said it says Premier Inn on my booking emails. Luckily for us he decided to be nice and phoned me back to offer to move us and the money we had paid to Premier Inn York Place, which was infinitely better and well worth the extra £140 for two nights.

Great location, friendly staff and good security. Pleasantly surprised by the nice atmosphere of downstairs bar/dining area. Accessible bathroom had some drainage issues that let to flooding but hopefully this is an easy fix that will be promptly sorted. Over good experience and will likely return for a similar trip.

The important parts of the room (bathroom and bed) were clean and tidy. The carpet, parts of the floor, and the doorframes did seem a bit worse for wear, but nothing that truly bothered me. I was a little put off by how the door gave quite a lot when you pushed/pulled even after being locked and bolted. However a keycard is required to get into the lift, corridors, and of course the room so it felt fairly secure. Sound proofing was also good, especially with pubs lining the street. The chair is fairly comfortable, but the desk is a narrow panel that slides out from the foot of the bed, so maybe not very good for travelers who will need to do a lot of work on the trip. Amazing location and a good choice for those who plan on being out most of the day.

I've had several stays at this hotel since it first opened but on this occasion during a period of very cold weather my room was not that easy to keep warm. The internal rooms without windows have a slightly different layout to those on the outer edge of the building and this impacts on the usefulness of the air con. The unit is above the door and blows out directly onto the bathroom wall directly opposite, not down the length of the room. The staff were very understanding and provided a portable oil filled radiator to overcome the problem. I was also surprised at the time worn carpet which really cries out for replacement, which compares badly with the pristine corridor carpets. Apart from that the stay was good, especially at £74 for 2 nights! The bar/lounge area is so eye catching and inviting to spend time in. Rose Street is central to everything Edinburgh has to offer and is perfect for guests arriving by train/bus/coach. I'll continue using this hotel but in future will request a room with a window because of the better layout.
