On arrive we were pleasantly surprised, location is spot on and the apartment is lovely along with a nice welcome from the cleaner. We had been concerned about where we had book after very poor communication from who I can only presume to be the owners (Heather and Duncan) initially they couldn't process the credit card details and sent us...

We were very content with our stay at Young Street boutique apartments. It is a roomy and warm apartment with well functioning new appliances, on a street with two pubs conveniently close . Also 10 to 15 minute walk to shopping area, theatres, Christmas market, and 20 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle. At Christmas the decorations and lights in this...

Stayed here for 2 nights in apartment 4 ! Must say its the first Time I have stayed somewhere where the pictures advertised are an actual accurate representation of what the apartment looks like. The bedrooms were huge with plenty of space, the heating and hot water was easy to use and it had an excellent shower and hairdryer !...

The place is about 10-15mins walk to the train station. A short walk away from groceries and restaurants. The apartment housed our group of 7pax comfortably with large living hall, dining hall and family room.

I stayed here on business for 4 nights at the end of October. The apartments are very nice with a fully equipped kitchen comfortable bed and a nice sized bathroom. Because I was there on business I was not looking to be out on the town and as such I enquired before I arrived, if the TVs had USB or...

As other reviewers have said, it's difficult to top the Young Street Apartments in terms of location. A charming cobbled side street with two old school boozers on it, just off George St in the heart of the city. My apartment was very nice, great value compared to hotel prices. Spacious, clean and comfortable with decent facilities (although my iron...

Super location, spacious apartment, clean and with a comfortable bed. Slightly poor soundproof, but in a relatively quiet street. The pub across the street was not noisy. Missed something more details on changing the towels, emptying trash, etc.

We also visited Mary King Street, this was great. And the city bus tour is a must if you want to see all the sights in comfort. The apartment was lovely, well...

Staying in New Town

Neighbourhood Profile
New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.
