Fraser Suites Edinburgh garners mixed feedback from its guests. While the staff's friendliness and the prime location near the Royal Mile are frequently praised, the hotel's service has faced criticism for poor responsiveness and inexperience. Many visitors appreciate the hotel's welcoming atmosphere and the comfort of the rooms, although the value for money and room maintenance have been points of contention.
Cleanliness is generally satisfactory, but issues with linen and towel replacement have been noted. Despite the comfortable amenities, some reviewers suggest that improvements could enhance the overall guest experience.

We had a fabulous stay here. A warm welcome, friendly staff, great central location. We stayed in the Princes Suite, which was lovely. Very comfortable bed & pillows, great views, big bathroom with walk in shower with wonderful water pressure. L'Occitane toiletries & large, soft towells. The kitchen area offered a nespresso machine & pods as well as a range of tea & coffee & biscuits. There was milk & water in the fridge. I was also presented with a bottle of wine as it was my birthday. All in all Fraser Suites did not disappoint. I would happily stay again.

We loved this hotel! My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst we visited Edinburgh on a city break. We had a fabulous stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable and the best part was the little kitchenette which came in so handy as the local restrictions meant restaurants were shut - meaning we could order deliveroo and had everything we need. The kitchenette in our room had a Fridge, Toaster, Kettle and Sink as well as cutlery and essential crockery. The room had a fabulous view, but my ONLY criticism is that the window opened very wide and there was a huge drop below - please be careful. The gym was ideal and we used this every day during our stay. The reception staff were smiley and friendly and the location of the hotel was brilliant - less than a 5 minute walk to the castle and from the tramline in Princes Street which we got from the airport. I would definitely stay here again if I was to come to Edinburgh in the future.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
Overall the room was okay, however i would have expected more from a junior suite, the cold draught coming from the out of date windows was not what we expected to receive, extractor fan not working in the bathroom.
Bagpipes being played at unsociable hours ruined any chance of sleeping in, double glazed windows would help this however.
The restaurant was great for dinner, continental buffet was okay. Full Scottish breakfast was quite frankly appalling, £12 for one of every item and wasn't cooked properly! Terrible!

So turned up, maybe my bad and didnt realise but parking is 7 mins walk away. We've upgraded to a junior suite which I was told was £20..turns put its £20 a day and it looks exactly the same as what I'd booked originally. Last night we were in the Radison blue in Durham and what can I say, I think I was spoilt. There was an ice machine and shoe shiner on every floor, free papers free water free sweets and the feeling that nothing was too much. £440 for 2 nights we ask if we can get some ice and are directed to the laundry room where we can help ourselves....nice suite, but microwave we had no idea how to use....ni in room information, not even a guide of how to call downstairs for help. Fancy pantscoffer machine, only 3pods and no idea what they are or how to use it, also dressing gown had brown Mark's round neck like it hadnt been washed. Not what u expect for that amount of money and 7 hours of travel. Total let down. Premier inn could have done better

Our experience was strange, everything was a bit off. Check in was frustrating, best guess was inexperienced staff couldn't handle the 2 separate bookings we had made. Several things in the suite didnt work as expected, bathroom fan didnt work, centralised light controls that didnt work and a bath that had to be filled from the kettle as the mixer didnt let enough hot water through. We had paid for an upgraded suite, this had single glazing and was situated directly above the pub and restaraunt, the noise and wind from outside had no problem getting in. To be honest we expected more from the hotel, we paid to make sure we had a highly rated hotel in a good location. We can't recommend this to others as the things that should have been simple and standard caused issues on a weekend we had planned for taking time out to relax together.

I booked to stay at the Fraser Suites a month in advance requesting the Suite featured on their website. I emailed the hotel detailing that my stay was for a modelling shoot and wanted the feature the hotel.
On arrival the girl on the desk was pleasant and courteous, checking me in promptly. I was directed to my “suite” which was not the room I requested.
The room was tiny, the sofa had stains and the interior was drab and tired looking. I returned to the reception to complain that this was not the room I requested. The receptionist advised me this was their nicest junior suite but went to get her manager.
She returned advising me she would let me see the Princes Suite which was their best suite and if I liked it she would upgrade me for a small fee (£30).
I decided to take the upgrade although I wasn’t happy about having to pay the extra given this was the hotels mistake. I moved my belongings into the new suite and called the receptionist to make the extra payment.
Soon after the receptionist called the room to tell me she had taken too much money from my card and could I pop down for a refund to be issued. When I got to the reception I was told they had actually taken £160 too much!!!
The refund was processed, but on checking with my bank it will take up to 5 days to go back into my account. I have now paid TWICE for a below par stay, which had affected work and bank balance!
I even had to ask to be given a breakfast for the inconvenience caused, no compensation was offered just an excuse blaming the card machine for the error.
In the new suite I found a tub of Vaseline, a stale crisp, and litter under the table. The rug in the lounge area had not been hoovered as it was covered in fluff and the lampshades on the table lamps were loose. Not really what you expect from “the nicest suite in the hotel”.
I had this trip planned for over a month and was greatly looking forward to capturing some stunning high fashion images, the reality is, the trip has been a waste of my time and money leaving me disappointed, out of pocket and now behind in my work schedule.

Dear Breezeybops, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I am disappointed to read your review as whilst you had requested 'the room from the website', you did not reply to us when we contacted you to ask which room you were referring to so as to assist us with your request. We have 75 unique rooms with multiple different photos on the website. You were allocated one of our most spacious Junior suites as this was the room category that you had booked. You were also informed in this same correspondence that requests are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. Whilst we do always try our best to accommodate guest requests, sometimes it is not possible and in this case, there was no specification as to what the request was actually for. As you were unhappy with the original room that you had booked, you were offered an alternative, which was an upgraded room category which did incur a discounted upgrade fee. Please accept our most sincere apologies for the issue with your billing, this was a human error which was rectified immediately however we understand the inconvenience of such a situation and did compensate you for our error. I would also like to apologise for the housekeeping issues experienced, this is not what our guests should expect and I have passed this on to the Operations and Housekeeping Managers to investigate. I hope that we can welcome you back again in the future, please do not hesitate to contact myself directly and I will be happy to assist with your reservation personally. Kind regards, Michelle

The hotel is in a great location - close to everything. We had a suite that was lovely. The bed was really comfortable and all the amenities were great. The heating was difficult to control and was often too hot and the air-con switched on and off all through the night which was a bit annoying. The only other complaint I had was that during our 4 night stay the room was not cleaned due to the Coronavirus (we stayed before any lockdown was enforced) while I understand the reasons behind this nothing was offered in compensation. We were at the end of a 4 week holiday and had booked this as a bit of luxury at the end so it was disappointing that we didn't get the full service. I asked about a late check out, as our flight was in the evening, and was told beyond 12pm I would have to pay. I pointed out that given we had paid for services not received it should be complimentary and this was then granted. Michelle, the manager, was lovely and very friendly and helpful although the same cannot be said for all of the front desk staff.

We picked this hotel for the location and we were exceedingly happy with the choice. This is an older hotel but very well remodeled and maintained. We had a family suite and that was located one floor above where the lift stopped. On check in we were immediately offered that someone would deliver the bags to the room and someone came promptly to take them down when we left. They held the bags after check out so we could go out and eat. They made eating reservations for us at excellent places. I would definitely stay here again.

It was the first time we had stayed at the Frasier Suites in Edinburgh, and it certainly won't be the last. We were travelling to Edinburgh as we were getting married. Gabor and Sammie very kindly offered to be our witnesses, to which we are eternally grateful. They were both so lovely and made the whole thing so easy for us. They even gave us a congratulations card and gift afterwards. Their customer service was impeccable. Thank you so much to both from Ailsa and Nick.
The stay was perfect. Lovely hotel, beautiful room and views and immaculate in general. Really simple to follow social distancing and cleaning procedures in place making us feel comfortable and safe. Perfect location in the old town area and for exploring the city. We can't wait to return, thanks to the wonderful level of customer service that we experienced here. Highly recommended!
