I stayed here with my partner for a few days in February. First of all the location is fantastic; just a side street off the royal mile, very close to almost everything we wanted to see and do. It's a five minute walk to the castle and the scotch whisky experience. The rooms at Fraser suites are large and sort...

Fraser Suites is located in a very central location, in walking distance of all Edinburgh has to offer. The room we had was clean, spacious, and very quiet, the restaurant was of a good standard and the food was great (Sottish breakfast very nice) Reasonably priced parking is located in the Railway car park a few minutes walk away. I...

Our trip got off to a bad start. We booked a junior suite and we were given the keys to room 201 which was located on the 2nd floor. DO NOT TAKE THIS ROOM IF OFFERED! This room is clearly designed to accommodate a disabled person as the sink in the bathroom was very low and the shower looked to...

Stayed for a few nights in Feb with my partner. Located well within the old town centre and perfectly located to visit the castle. Rooms were modern, stylish and clean. Food/drinks were adequately priced. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Would definitely return when in the area.

Brilliant location on the edge of the old Town with great views over the city, easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, Holyrood Park and House, 5 minutes from the castle and the station. Quiet at night, friendly comfortable accommodation with mini kitchen in the room.

Great central location and good rooms. No frills service, which was good. However in one room some of the overhead lights would not turn off at night. The response of the person called was 'tell reception in the morning' which did not resolve the problem. There was then no real effort made adequately to compensate us for such a fundamental...

We stay in the Fraser Suites hotel for three nights. We were recieved by the very kind and resourceful staff. We were given a room facing the street, wich provided us with an awesome view, ideal to relax in the bed while watching the most amazing sunsets Edinburgh can offer. Everything else in the room was perfect, it was quiet...

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
