McCrae's Bed and Breakfast is a family-run eco-friendly, organic guest house, conveniently located in Edinburgh's historic New Town, only a 10 minute walk to the City Centre. We offer our guests affordable, high-quality accommodation that quite literally doesn't cost the earth as we strive to make a minimal impact on our environment and will help reduce your carbon-footprint while enjoying our wonderful city. We are a recently renovated, traditional Edinburgh main door apartment in a block that is over 130 years old and many period features, such as ornate cornicing, have been retained; the decor is a tasteful mix of old and new.

John is a great host. The rooms are large and very comfortable. You can sit and relax in the breakfast room and make your self a nice coffee or tea if you want. I loved the breakfast Easy downhill walk back from the downtown area but a big uphill walk in! Lots of places to eat

Hi. The tram, to its last stop at York place, drops you to within an easy 10 minute walk downhill to the b&b. It takes about 45 mins. Alternatively, the airport express bus gets you to the city centre faster but leaves you with a longer walk of 15-20 mins.

The RHS is held beside the airport, which is approximately 8 miles from the city centre.

"The garden view room was great. It looked out on the back yard and a courtyard of other apartments, and was very quiet."
"The tram to the airport stops very close by"
"Talk to John who runs Mc Craes and he will advise you. Our room was perfect for us."
"Rooms 2 and 3 are at the back of the house and are quieter overall, although all rooms are very quiet due to the off-the-main-road location."
"Rooms are located on ground floor"
