Lovely stay at Craigbrae Farmhouse where the accommodations, the breakfast and especially John and Verna were first rate! We especially enjoyed visiting with our hosts in the lounge awaiting the birth of the royal baby, complete with celebratory toast following the announcement. What fun! Their help with our rental car return was most helpful. We would heartily recommend a stay...

We spent four excellent nights here as part of our 18 day tour of Scotland. Perfect place to stay if you wish to visit Edinburgh. Short train ride from the station and even free parking. Also quick drive to the bridge-only 1 hour to St Andrews. Louise served an excellent breakfast every morning and the rooms were comfortable and restful...

We spent three nights and had a marvelous time. Wish we could have stayed a week as there was so much to see and we barely were able to touch the tip of the iceberg. Will certainly hope to return and would recommend as a great location, a great and comfortable respite and a lovely hostess.....easy to get around and...

Good base for visiting Edinburgh and surrounding areas if you have a car. Just 3 or 4 letting bedrooms, 2 of which share a bathroom and separate toilet although each room has a washbasin - no problem for us and the only reason I didn't score it higher. Close to airport and Forth road bridge and road network but no...

Beautiful house and garden, and the best breakfast in Britain. Let's you avoid the nightmare of driving in Edinburgh, and with free parking at the local train station 5 minutes away it's a bit over 4 pounds round trip to the city center 3 stops away.

I stayed here for the Edinburgh Marathon last month and this lovely little B&B is definitely worth a visit for the amazing breakfasts if not the gorgeous surrounding countryside... Run by Louise, who is an incredible hostess who looks after you above and beyond from arrival to departure. The rooms are perfect to unwind and relax in with lovely views...

Louise and Michael were so nice and interesting! Our room was very nice and with a great view. The owners were really helpful with all manner of things, especially thier computer when our flight was cancelled! The strike, not the volcano!! We really enjoed their easy comfort and delicious breakfasts!

Welcoming, interesting hosts, lovely breakfasts. Clean, comfortable rooms with lots of character. If visiting Edinburgh, park at Dalmeny station for free and go in by train, especially if it's Festival time.

We stayed at Craigbrae Farmhouse during our trip around Scotland last week. We found out about Craigbrae through Alastair Sawday's Special Places and decided to give it a try despite not finding any reviews on it. And, what a gem! It's an old farmhouse (not working farmhouse anymore) just about 15-20 minutes drive outside of Edinburgh. We stayed here because...
