New Town
Suits and shopping bags rule the streets of New Town, until after dark when strappy dresses come out to play. This is the city’s central business district with its smaller offices, clothes boutiques, and many of the city’s flashiest restaurants and ritziest clubs. The architecture along roads like George Street helps give it a swank and formal feel: it’s a planned Georgian development of regal townhouses, geometric squares, and self-important statues. But it’s also a very wanderable neighbourhood, with a healthy bustle at almost any time of day and fine people-watching in places like St Andrew's Square which fills with picnickers around lunch. You’ll also find a series of cheerful basement bistros on Hanover Street, while dark Rose Street has something of the feel of an undiscovered back alley and is chock-full of characterful pubs and small independent shops.

Booking was very simple and extras added without any difficulty. The room was large and clean. There was very little noise from outside and no disturbance from inside. The necessities were available, clean towels, tea and coffee, television and WiFi.

Travelodge Rose Street is perfectly located for a stay in Edinburgh. A lively pedestrian street running behind and parallel to Princes Street, Close to all the central attractions, as well as the Tour busses which leave from Waverley Bridge - right next to the main railway

Hello. Pet's are most welcome. We have a pet policy that is an additional £20 for the duration of the stay. You may pay this online at the time of booking or pay when you arrive at the desk. Whichever is convenient for yourself.

This hotel does not offer any parking as we are on a small pedestrian street that only allows loading trucks before 10am. The nearest parking is street parking on George Street with a maximum stay of 4 hours during the day but free after 6:30pm.

Hi, It's something like a small packet of cereal, milk. However you are in a great location for good restaurants/café. There is also a McDonalds approx. 10 walk. Let me know if I can help further as only returned in last week. Mick

is there car parking on site
I don't think there is parking. We had taken the train but parking is at a premium in the city.

Hi Mick, Yes you can get the tram from the airport to this hotel. We got the bus, not realising we could have got the tram. I can't remember the name of the stop but you get off/on really close to the Scott Monument (can't miss it). From there, it's just a few minutes' walk to this Travelodge. (Hope my answer wasn't too late!)
