Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice hotel in Edinburgh we stayed for a weekend whilst attending a comic con and on an evening walked into Edinburgh old town and took in some sights and pubs. The hotel itself is basic but beds were comfy food was good and staff were friendly. They were having some redecorating done but didn't interfere with our stay.

This hotel would be considered one of Edinburgh's Budget Hotels and is cheap and cheerful. I believe it was the staff that made it 5 star for me. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Across the road from Cameron Toll shopping centre and bus stop in to the City Centre ....Edinburgh buses are very regular and a Day Saver ticket is £5.50...if you know to expect Budget accommodation then you are getting great value for the price.

We had a lovely stay and delightful staff were very helping. Accessible from town by public transport. Clean facilities with Sainsbury's nearby. Check in and check out was fairly easy. Bathroom soap dispenser was completely empty but apart from that, stay was fantastic.

Second time at this hotel and it's still got the nicest staff. Clare and Carly really should be on the stage as the banter you get with both of them just makes you feel like your at home watching a comedy show. Hotel currently having a refit but I did not notice any noise. Will definitely be back

Clean and friendly with good car parking. Reasonably quiet too. Excellent staff and night porter. This was our third time staying at Cameron Toll and we’ll definitely be back. Room rates fluctuate greatly between £29 and £70 per night which is annoying.

Hotel was run down, room on 3rd floor in the roof space was extremely noisy and the banging and creaking from the roof continued all through the night. Would not stay there again. Chose this hotel as it was close to The Royal children’s Hospital but staying there has made an already anxious situation 10 times worse.

Loud noise 24/7. Large gap in the middle of the mattress. Water leaking in the bathroom. Someone entered my room, opened my suitcase, soiled my bath towel. Was assigned to occupied rooms two times when checked in. Extremely disappointed experience. The worst stay ever!
