Hotel's Favourite
Me and my partner came away for my birthday and couldn’t have stayed at a better hotel.
It’s in the perfect location. It’s a short walk to the shops bars and restaurants it’s not too far from the castle too which is great to visit.
The hotel was very clean and the rooms were lovely. Staff were so helpful and very friendly.
We paid for breakfast both mornings which was a continental one which was very nice and also it didn’t finish too early like most hotels do I think it’s was 11am on the Sunday.
I would highly recommend staying here if your in Edinburgh!

Came to Edinburgh last weekend on a break with my partner. Very helpful and welcoming staff, kept all our baggage for us the few hours before we could check in and also held our baggage for a few hours after we checked out. Hotel very handy to haymarket station. A 25 minute tram journey from Edinburgh airport. Nice cafes, shops and restaurants surrounding the hotel. Very handy for pick up and drop off points as we occassionally used Uber to save us walking to specific places such as the zoo. Average cost of uber journeys was raround £7. Hotel great value for money - Clean, modern, comfy beds, nice bathroom and shower (only slight downside was the lack of soap/shampoo/ shower gel in the dispenser) Location was ideal for public transport but roughly a 15 minute walk to the castle and main shopping area and popular bars within the city.

Good evening CluelessTraveller3, Thank you for this lovely feedback. What make us feel proud of this job are reviews like yours! We are delighted that you chose our hotel for your little break in Scotland. A warm welcome on guests' arrival is a part of being a good receptionist at Point A. You are right: our location is nearby where everything happens. Shops, restaurants, main attractions, cafes and nice pubs where you can enjoy live music are not too far from us. As you might noticed, our company mind about cleanliness, modernity and provide smart spaces equipped with all you need for your short stay in the city of Edinburgh. Bear in mind that you can always ask extra towels, pillows and soap dispensers at reception, we are open 24/7 for you requests! We would love to host you once more. Regards, Erica

This was the best price for a reasonable location short stay in Edinburgh from 26-28 June and proved to be a great choice. We booked late and could only get 2 rooms with no windows for what we were prepared to pay but aircon was excellent. The rooms were small but ideal for a short break but no wardrobes if you were there longer. There were hanging knobs and some shelves which were sufficient for us. The whole place was spotless and the staff were probably the most professional and pleasant we have encountered and that’s saying something as we have had many short breaks across the UK and Europe. We made the mistake of eating out for breakfast which was mediocre at best and cost us £50 for 4 We had breakfast in the hotel on Day 2 and for £9 each it was excellent. The staff handled a very drunk, obnoxious English football fan who had no pass for a room extremely well on Saturday and put up with totally unacceptable behaviour so professionally that they are to be commended {Spain’s and Italian employees). Would highly recommend and will stay again COVID rules were followed and our rooms were sealed on arrival but you could ask for fresh towels etc if required

Stayed last night and loved it so much I had to leave a review straight away ! From the outset we had a fantastic stay. This began with the outstanding service from Jennifer at reception who made us feel so welcome and like people she had known for years. We then went to our room which was spacious, very modern and full of mod cons. The shower was incredible and the addition of the chromecast meant we could listen to our own music getting ready(nice touch). We both had a brilliant nights sleep and woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. The hotel was spotless and very stylish. Neither of us had breakfast but both made comment on how fresh and varied the selection was while waiting in the reception. It looked like one of the nicest continental selections I've ever seen ! Safe to say we will be back with bells on and look forward to staying again. A fantastic night away !!

Dear Laurawelshy0711, Thank you for leaving us such detailed feedback, we really appreciate it. We are glad that you enjoyed every aspect of the hotel. The fact that our staff made a positive impression on you makes us feel proud as we aim to deliver the best customer service for our guests. Jennifer will be thrilled to know she was helpful. All of our team members are enthusiastic young people that have a good knowledge of Edinburgh and always try to help if the guests have any difficulties. As you mentioned, our hotel has modern rooms that include everything needed for the comfortable stay including flat-screen TVs with Chromecast, Hypnos beds, power showers, and our signature mood lights. Although we do not provide a full Scottish breakfast, we do have a very good continental buffet which has a wide selection of pastries, yoghurts, granola and porridge, as well as unlimited coffee and tea during breakfast hours. We cannot wait to host you again in the near future. Kind regards, Dmitrii

I spent three nights in Point A Hotel and was totally delighted with every aspect of it.
The bedroom was well laid out and the bathroom was totally suitable with regards my needs as a person with limited movement.
The staff were so considerate of my needs and could not have been more helpful. If I could score 10* for the staff I would.
Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Hotel is in a good location and reasonably priced, although bringing a car will add 14 pounds per night at the nearest car park.
Room was clean and modern but a bit minimalistic. No surfaces or storage apart from from very small areas and hooks for coats / hangers. No kettle, cups or glasses.
Breakfast buffet wasn't available due to coronavirus.

Hello scoshi_73, Thank you so much for your review, we always appreciate our guests' feedback. As we are a city centre hotel we do not have our own parking space, but we have a partnership with a private parking five minutes far away from our premises, with cheaper rates thanks to the discount you get with your validation ticket, 24 hours rates drop from £32 to £14. We do understand nowadays is not easy to find spots to park for free in big and popular cities, so sorry about that. Our cosy rooms ensure you have everything you need for a pleasant and satisfying stay with the comfiest "Hypnos beds", power showers, 43-inch smart TV with Chromecast connectivity, hairdryers and our signature mood lighting. We are so sorry you could not enjoy our popular breakfast buffet, as sooner as coronavirus leave us, will be on again. We do brekkie bags instead which includes a yoghurt pot, banana, croissant, pain au chocolate, juice and coffee or tea for just £5. We are looking forward to hosting you again. Have a wonderful day. Alvaro

Point A hotels is a modern hotel , with modern fittings and interior decorations. I love the lounge area and the decor .it’s also clean. My first impression stepping into the hotel to check in was positive. I got to my room and liked the seal in the door showing that no one else had been in my room after it was cleaned. I got into my room and was a bit underwhelmed by the size. It was quite small and the bathroom even smaller; note however I booked for the comfy room which in the description is smaller than the cozy double. But still, it was a bit too small. The room was as clean as it could get. I enjoyed the techy features of the room, such as; the controls to change the lights settings, the fact that the tv was a smart TVs and I could connect Netflix from my phone to it. I also liked the air condition controls.
Point A scores high points for the central location to the main town centre. It’s perfectly situated.
Breakfast at point A is very healthy and fresh. I enjoyed the yogurts selection, fresh fruits and juice. The croissants were divine as well.there is also cereals of all kinds. However I feel perhaps a bit more variety should be added. Some guests may want a more hearty breakfast. Maybe add scrambled eggs together with the hard boiled eggs that was also on the breakfast menu.
I also expected that maybe at a point during our stay the room will be cleaned, or we would at least be asked if we needed it to be cleaned or needed fresh sheets. But our room wasn’t attended to till we left. Other hotel chains that follow the same model as point A have their cleaners go around the rooms asking if you want it to be cleaned( not thoroughly ofcourse ) but perhaps a little sprucing up, or beds to be made. Point A lacked that. I wondered, if I stayed there for a week I would be left to my room unattended for the whole duration? The point of lodging in a hotel is to escape the cleaning I do at home to just put my feet up and relax, without thinking of doing anything much but enjoy my holiday. Perhaps the mgt can look into that.
In summary my stay wasn’t bad at all, but if point A could look at improving these few things I mentioned I believe they will give their other competitors a run for their money.

Dear Ailo153324, We love hearing how much you enjoyed the controls of our electronic facilities such as Chromecast connectivity, mood lighting, etc. Sorry to hear that we didn't meet your expectations about the cooked items for breakfast as we don't have them in our brekkie buffet and I do apologize if we didn't inform you in your arrival that due to Covid we provide a limited cleaning service but we do provide extra towels, bed linen to change during your stay on request. Feedbacks like yours motivate us to improve our service, Thanks for being our guest. Cheers!

We started here over Valentine’s Day weekend and it was exactly what we needed. Walking distance to everything you can see (however we do collect miles walking on city breaks). Loads of restaurants and shops nearby. Discounts at local places when you start with them.
The rooms were modern and clean. We opted for the Cheaper room which meant we had no window however the mood lighting helped you not notice and to be to be honest on a city break you don’t spend too much time in the room anyway. I’ve never stayed anywhere where the rooms were so sound proof, we never heard another door close or people coming/going.
We didn’t eat downstairs but had coffee every morning from the cafe every morning which was reasonably priced. All in all would definitely recommend.

Dear Kira Turn, Thank you for leaving us a review, we really appreciate that you took some time to share your experience. We cannot be happier that you enjoyed your stay. As you correctly mentioned, the hotel is located within a walking distance of the city center and is surrounded by many restaurants that serve a great variety of dishes, from the traditional Scottish ones to Mediterranian and American cuisines. We are glad that you enjoyed your room. Although some of our rooms have no windows, they are no worse in quality and even better in terms of noise reduction, which makes it a perfect choice for short stays. It would be a pleasure for us to host you again in the near future. Kind regards, Dmitrii

So the positives. A clearly quite new hotel. Well appointed rooms and common areas. And clean of course. Friendly staff.
But, and there are buts. At the moment we're in unique times and I was disappointed that people weren't always directed to an automatic front door that wasn't obvious until the night entry sign was up. As a consequence the natural reaction was to use a manual revolving door which turned out to be unnecessary. Whilst staff were usually but not always behind a plastic partition, masks either weren't worn at all or were around necks. A lot is about messaging so this wasn't ideal.
In terms of the room itself. Well I got a cozy double with room. Very small as expected. Nice little digital buttons for lights etc but really stuffy. No ability to open the huge window at all. Without air conditioning on it became really stuffy and uncomfortable. With the air con on there was the predictable contstant flow of artificial air onto the bed. At times like these it is nice to be able to rely on fresh air and unless you prop the door open you can't do that. A larger room would no doubt have been better for a sense of air.
Also and ridiculously the window had/has a big exterior light immediately outside it. Part of the design of the hotel this means you are forced to close the black out curtains if you want to sleep, rather than simply leaving normal curtains closed a little sad I sometimes prefer.
Location wise, well you have a map. It isn't close to what you'd consider the key tourist attractions but that's presumably not a problem if you choose to stay here. Twenty minute walk to Waverley. Decent bus connections.
I couldn't recommend a room based on my experience. The sense of being in a small, badly/artificially ventilated box was inescapable. And the ridiculous light outside was a silly annoyance.

Hello Doddsy121, Thank you for your review, we always appreciate our guests' feedback. We do have two entry options, our main door is revolving. we thoroughly clean it and sanitize it to ensure guests' safety on a regular basis. We do also have a disabled access door which is push-button which doubles up as night entry door. As per our policy, our staff wears protective face masks, which are not required when behind our plastic shields. Our rooms are cozy and modern offering the perfect mix for a city break, all of them furnished with blackout curtains for the more sensitive guests. A/C is installed and air recycling system active 24/7 to ensure a good air renewal. The hotel is located on the west end, 10 minutes distance to princess street (shopping area) and Edinburgh Castle is a 15 minutes walk, Haymarket station is as little as 7 minutes walk. We are sorry that you did not enjoy your room, we hope you'll give us another chance in the future, we always improve our hotels, guests' feedback is very important for us. Have a lovely day, Luca.

Stayed here for a business trip. Stayed in small room with window and was pleasantly surprised.
The welcome and foyer was a very good first impression. Room was on 2nd floor, and there are secure key access only doors to access lifts and rooms which is a nice touch.
The room itself was small, but enough space for an individual without feeling cramped. Big comfy bed and nice bathroom, and a huge tv was just what i needed. TV can also be accessed by personal devices so can stream apps etc. perfect!
Location is good and a 5-10 min walk from both Haymarket Station, right next door to the EICC, and close to lots of bars, restaurants and shops.
Would most certainly stay again!

The hotel has no parking per se. They do have local arrangements for parking.
Not sure
Yes that was no problem on our stay.
I actually parked for 10 minutes in the cut out 100 ft past the hotel, but there was someone sitting in the car. I am not sure I would leave an empty car there for more than a quick minute.
