Situated approx 10 minutes (by car) from the old town this is a wonderful looking house overlooked by Arthurs Seat with peacocks in the large grounds. My wife and I were very warmly welcomed at the entrance, checked in and shown to our room. The decor in the room is dark and furnished with antique furniture and a large very...

Prestonfield House Hotel produced an atmosphere and quality of Xmas Lunch that one would desire. The welcome and pre lunch drinks in the 'leather' room before proceeding to the dining room were very relaxing. The decorations were what one might expect in an historic house and it put the party in the perfect frame of mind before the lunch started....

I have stayed in so many hotels in Edinburgh for work. From now on I will never look elsewhere. If you're looking for old school glamour, fantastic food and staff that remember you, then stay here. Slightly outside the city, a quick cab ride but spectacular views of arthurs seat to compensate along with stunning grounds. The rooms are to...

We had a lovely room with lots of thoughtful touches including a bottle of champagne. The room had two windows, each with pleasant views. Dinner was excellent. Each course was tasty and beautifully presented. Throughout our stay the staff were all friendly and attentive. They made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. Overall we had a really relaxing...

Another year rolls round and it's our wedding anniversary. What can we do? Exactly as we did last year and the year before. The Prestonfield experience was as magical as ever in every way. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Fabulous room, comfy bed, wonderful champagne. I think we are so fortunate to have had the experience. As it seems...

There is nothing to beat a tasty afternoon tea in front of a lovely log fire and Prestonfield House is one of the best places to do this. It is not up to the Balmoral's tea but for sheer ambience and for the price, it takes the biscuit!

Visited Boxing Day for Afternoon Tea, from arrival to departure could not have asked for better service. The food was delicious and what we couldn't eat boxed up for us to take home. On enquiring about the history of the hotel a printout was provided.

This is our 5th visit to Prestonfield. Every new visit delights us more than our last if that is possible. The hotel is all that is described in other reviews. It is the jewel in the crown compared to other hotels. What makes it especially exceptional for my husband and I are the welcoming and friendly staff. I would like...

This was not our first visit, so we knew what to expect for our birthday celebration treat. The hotel was beautifully decked out with tasteful Christmas trees and low key festive decoration. Our room was medium sized on the first floor with a view over the adjacent hotel parkland. The room was quiet with little disturbance from other guests despite...
