Perfect location, the 2 bed apartment came fully equipped with everything you could desire, including food. The beds were comfortable and quiet. Didn't want to leave, we will be back. Walking distance to the castle, golden mile, new town and old town.

The people that takes care of the Residence are wonderful people and honest human beings...with this kind of treatment you feel like at a 5 stars hotel, but with the privacy of an apartment ideal for a small family. Would love to come back...

We came to Edinburgh for the New Year and spent a few days with the family exploring the City and making the most of the Hogmanay festival. We have 2 two-bedroom apartments and they were everything we were hoping for: well positioned close to the centre, well maintained, equipped with everything you need.... But most importantly we have to mention...

This was the first time we have tried an aparthotel and we will definitely be back. The location was great, the apartment clean and comfortable and the concierge friendly and helpful. We paid for parking too, which was good value in a gated area underneath the hotel.

We stayed here for a couple of nights just after New Year. We had a two bedroom apartment. It was very clean, beautifully decorated and furnished and was cosy. We arrived to find provisions supplied; bread, milk, juice, cereal, butter, jam, biscuits and plenty of tea and coffee. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you may need from...

Visiting family in the area with three boys between 9 and 14 we wanted something different to a hotel. This place was absolutely spotless.Very well managed right down to the welcome pack of essentials waiting for us in the kitchen.Location is terrific a short walk from the old town. And with secure off street parking the package is complete.Five stars.

What a great, central location for a family to stay. Self contained for at home meals yet close to shopping, sightseeing and eating within walking distance. Friendly staff...clean accommodations, what more could a person ask for?!

We were in Edinburgh for the Christmas holidays and decided to try a "serviced apartment" instead of the usual Hilton, Hyatt, etc. We found the Knight Residences had great online reviews and were not disappointed. The unit was terrific. We rented a two bedroom unit, plus living room and kitchen. Except for some peeling paint on the bathroom ceiling (due...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.
