West End
Prevailing winds meant that most cities that grew in industrial Britain had their most desirable neighbourhoods to the west – upwind of factory fumes. Edinburgh was no exception, with its wealthiest citizens settling in its West End and leaving behind grand Georgian townhouses, private gardens and genteel crescents. These backstreets remain as dignified and sleepy as ever, and most of the action here lies along the district’s busy main roads. Lothian Road connects to southern Edinburgh and harbors a vague entertainment district: three theatres and the city’s main indie cinema. All attract a select crowd, the sort who appreciate the Saturday Edinburgh’s Farmers’ Market around the corner. The West End’s other great thoroughfare, Shandwick Place, is dominated by trams trundling out to the suburbs and airport, and shoppers picking up last-minute items before hopping aboard.

Thank you for taking the time to review The Knight Residence. I was sorry to hear your issues, Our staff are on duty 24 hours a day and as you said they were very helpful, I wonder why you never brought these issues to our attention whilst you were with us? You said that the apartment was chilly and that you were having issues with the hot water. Each apartment has its own central thermostat that you control to the desired temperature with each radiator in the rooms having the same feature. The hot water for the shower is controlled by a boiler system to ensure that you have continuous hot water. Our apartments are situated a five minute walk from the GrassMarket, the main bar and restaurant for the Old Town of Edinburgh, there are a variety of bars and restaurants available, from High end Michelin star restaurants such as Castle Terrace Restaurant to every day eateries such as Bread Meats Bread or Nandos! As for bars, well..... at last count there were 732 public houses in Edinburgh, from traditional pubs with live music to lively mainstream chains. I do hope you come back and see us in the future, If you do, remember to ask our staff the best places to eat and visit, after all that is what we are here for.

Our unit had a queen bed in one room and two twin that could be moved together in the other room. There was also a queen pullout couch in the living room. Yes WiFi was free. They even provide the equivalent of a mobile phone/device with 3g or 4g (can t remember at the moment) that was super useful n getting around town. Free breakfast? The kitchen did come w milk, juice, bread, small cereal boxes, coffee and tea and snacks. It was a great starter for our week there. There is a grocery store nearby too.
